Approaching quicker than we know .. our Free Bonfire and fireworks display will take place Saturday 7 th November .. we are now accepting donations of wood ideally pallets or decking boards by arrangements .. please do not turn up and ‘dump’ anything at the cricket club without getting in touch first .. we are not accepting garden waste such as bushes or branches xx

Two further cricket matches happening this week 💚❤️🏏 Shelley Stingrays will be playing against Denby Dale CC ladies tomorrow night Bar 1871 open from 6 pm and Wednesday we have Yorkshire over 60’s/70’s combined team using our facilities against The Forty Club Bar 1871 open from 2.45 pm .. 🤞🙏 for the weather which looks to be holding xx

Fridays 6 pm
Sundays 4 pm
We will be opening one Saturday a month from October please keep your eyes open for these dates !
Delighted to confirm that the quiz will take place too throughout the winter so watch out for details of the next quiz and harvest auction with the Fabulous Simon Rotchell…
And if that wasn’t enough we will be open Christmas Day too .. more news to follow

Yesterday was a great day at the club 💚🏏 our 1st team almost had our visitors Marsden in a thrilling game to eventually see Marsden promoted .. whilst disappointment meant that due to the weather our 2nd team game against Holmbridge was called off ! Our overseas Pro Buddhika finished top of ALL of the league with his wicket taking .. the very reason we have resigned him for the 2027 season ..retaining his services was a big plus for the club and means as well as playing senior cricket at Westerley Lane our juniors will be fortunate to have his coaching expertise once more ! A great season with an Earnshaw Cup 🏆 win and so many positives .
Once again we are grateful to our volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the facilities are as good as they can be including Tony and Willie and our groundsman James who has had the ground and wicket in tip top condition 👏
Thankyou to our many supporters and friends and to a very proactive committee who have made 2026 what it was .. we celebrated into the night so today is about a little rest and recovery before the winter months are upon us and more planning and work for 2027 !
Not quite finished yet as next week we celebrate our juniors and their milestones and achievements with the presentation on Friday and the following week a ‘get together’ of the ladies who are our Stingrays team to celebrate their formation and joining a league in 2027.. all that remains to be said is thankyou to each and every one of you who follows us, likes our posts or simply comes for a drink in Bar 1871 we are nothing without your support !

The first team end the season at Westerley Lane, whereas the second team conclude their campaign at Holmbridge 🟢

Come down to the club tomorrow afternoon to support the first team and stay late as we mark the end of the season with some food and music 🪩🍴
