🐉🔴 U6 DRAGONS – TOURNAMENT WINNERS 🔴🐉

Our newly formed U6 Dragons recently took part in the Llandudno 2026 Summer Tournament — and came away as Championship Cup winners! 🏆

The whole squad played their part throughout the day, remaining unbeaten on their way to the final before securing a thrilling 3–2 victory to lift the trophy.

Coaches Matty and Alex were incredibly proud of the team and praised their effort, teamwork and attitude, saying they thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Rhyl & District League Cup Final – U14s 🏆

Prestatyn Athletic U14 3–3 Denbigh Town U14
*Denbigh Town win 5–3 on penalties

The U14s faced a tough test against this season’s league champions, Prestatyn Athletic, in the Rhyl & District League Cup Final.

Having played their semi-final against Prestatyn Athletic Rangers less than 48 hours earlier, the team knew they would need to be fully focused from the first whistle.

They made the perfect start, taking an early lead when Alfie Hughes found the back of the net following a fine assist from captain Oscar Buchanan.

Just before the break, Prestatyn found an equaliser to send the sides into half-time level at 1–1.

Only minutes into the second half, Riley Gallagher restored Denbigh’s advantage, latching onto a superb pass from Ethan Seville before calmly finding the far corner.

Prestatyn responded once again to level the score, but Denbigh were not behind for long. Louis Lamont produced a moment of quality, firing a low drive from outside the box into the bottom corner to make it 3–2.

With victory in sight, there was late heartbreak as Prestatyn scored with virtually the last kick of the game to force a penalty shootout.

Denbigh held their nerve from the spot, converting all five penalties with confidence. Goalkeeper George Allsopp played a crucial role, making an excellent save before stepping up to convert his own penalty. That left captain Oscar Buchanan with the chance to win it, and he did so in style, rifling his effort into the top corner to spark jubilant celebrations from players, coaches, and supporters alike.

A fantastic achievement for the squad and a memorable way to lift the Rhyl & District League Cup.

Rhyl & District League Cup Final – U15s 🏆

St Asaph City U16 1 - 2 Denbigh Town U15

It was a fantastic day for the U15s yesterday as they were crowned Rhyl & District League Cup winners.

The team came into the game full of confidence after recently winning their league title, but they knew they would face a tough challenge against an older St Asaph side.

The first half was closely contested, with both teams battling hard but neither able to find a breakthrough before the interval.

It took until the 66th minute for Denbigh Town to break the deadlock. Kian Kelly found the back of the net after a well-worked move, with the assist coming from Leo James.

Just three minutes later, the pair combined again, this time with the roles reversed. Kelly provided the pass and James finished clinically to double Denbigh’s advantage.

St Asaph responded strongly in the final ten minutes, applying plenty of pressure and earning a late goal. However, Town remained composed and saw the game out to the final whistle, securing a deserved victory and lifting the trophy in front of proud coaches, parents, and supporters.

What a fantastic day for Denbigh Town! 🔴⚽️

The U14s have added more silverware to the club’s collection, following the U15s’ cup success earlier in the day.

An excellent match between two outstanding teams ended in a deserved victory for Denbigh Town over league winners Prestatyn Athletic, winning 5–3 on penalties after a hard-fought contest.

A huge congratulations to all the players, coaches, and supporters.

🏆🔴 Rhyl & District League Cup Finals Day 🔴🏆

Our talented U14s and U15s teams have both secured their places in the Rhyl & District League Cup Finals after impressive semi-final victories.

U14s REACH CONSECUTIVE CUP FINALS

Due to coach availability, the U14s travelled to Prestatyn with only the squad and stand-in coach Mark Jones available on the night to face last year’s winners, Prestatyn Athletic Rangers.

Mark Jones did a fantastic job managing the side in difficult circumstances. Despite going a goal behind early on, the boys responded brilliantly. The league’s top goalscorer, Riley Gallagher, continued his outstanding form by firing home a superb left-footed strike just before half-time to level the game at 1-1.

The match remained evenly contested throughout the second half until, with just five minutes remaining, midfielder Harry Smith picked out Connor Hayes with a perfectly timed pass and from the halfway line Hayes sprinted clear, rounded the goalkeeper brilliantly, and calmly slotted the ball into the net to seal a memorable victory.

The win sends the U14s into consecutive cup finals, where they will be hoping to go one step further this time around.

DOMINANT DISPLAY FROM THE U15s

The U15s continued their excellent form with a commanding home victory over Prestatyn Sports U15s.

Finn Jones opened the scoring in just the third minute after a superb assist from Jac Salisbury. Minutes later, Ted Pope confidently converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

Further goals from Leo James and another from Finn Jones gave the side a comfortable lead heading into half-time.

The momentum continued in the second half as substitute Joseph Barrass came on to score a superb brace, completing an emphatic 6-0 victory and securing the team’s place in the final.

UNLUCKY FOR THE U12s & U16s

The U12s and U16s were both unfortunate to narrowly miss out on final spots in their respective competitions.

The U12s produced an excellent performance against Prestatyn Sports U12s despite being severely depleted in numbers. Although it wasn’t to be on the day, the effort and commitment shown by the team was outstanding.

Likewise, the U16s put in a strong display against Dyserth U16s. A brace from Aled Slingerland was not enough to turn the game in their favour as they narrowly missed out by a single goal playing with only 10 players for the full duration.

A FANTASTIC SEASON SO FAR

A huge congratulations to all of our competitive teams for their efforts throughout the season.

We now wish both our U14s and U15s the very best of luck in their finals tomorrow.

🏆🔴 Denbigh U10s at the Double! 🔴🏆

It was a fantastic day for Denbigh’s Under-10 teams at the recent St Asaph summer tournament, with both squads returning home with silverware.

The U10s Athletic were crowned Champions League winners, lifting the tournament trophy after an excellent series of performances. The U10 Reds also enjoyed a successful tournament, securing the Europa League trophy to complete a memorable double for the club.

A tremendous achievement for both teams, their coaches, and everyone who has supported them throughout the season.

👏 Congratulations to all the players — a brilliant effort and a day to remember! 👏

We are very much looking forward to our Presentation Day on Saturday 13th June at the newly renovated Denbigh Town Football Club.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for all our teams to reflect on and celebrate what has been an excellent season across every age group, from U6 through to our U16s, with players receiving their well-earned awards.

Time slots for each age group will be communicated directly by their coaches.🔴⚽️🏆
