To mark the official inauguration of our course, an 18-hole match was played between four gentlemen: James Braid, Sandy Herd, Ted Ray, and James Arundel.

Braid, Herd, and Ray between them had won seven Open Championships and a US Open. Three giants of the game, setting a standard of excellence that still defines us.
