๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Central Nervous System ๐Ÿง  or the CNS for short is something that we all have and something we use every second of every day

The CNS is located in the brain and spinal cord and is responsible for both conscious and subconscious movements and reactions within our body
-
Specifically there are some areas of the brain that are particularly involved in the CNS function. These include the cerebellum and the diencephalon. The cerebellum is the seconds largest part of the brain- interesting fact ๐Ÿค”

The main role of the cerebellum is to coordinate muscle contraction to allow for precise and accurate movement and to control our posture and balance. This is something that happens subconsciously due to the many micro movements we perform by the second and all the muscle contractions involved within these movements (even when seated or laying down!)

The diencephalon can be broken down into 2 smaller areas, these are known as the thalamus and the hypothalamus. The thalamus is a kind of sorting station which receives the nerves impulses and directs then to the correct area within the brain to help gather a response/ reaction. The diencephalon is the part of the brain that tells you when and where to direct yourself, your force or your movement etc.

Training the CNS can be as simple as:
- Training in your chosen sport or activity
- Get lots of healthy sleep
- Be aware of your senses
- Train with heavy weights
- Use overcoming isometric training
- Use plyometrics to warm up the brain
- Engage with what youโ€™re doing (focus)
- Supplement with Omega 3โ€™s (fatty acids)
