🥁💜 WHAT A FUN MORNING! 💚🥁

We had such a brilliant drumming session this morning, with Drums4Health, lots of drumming, dancing, moving, laughing and connecting! 😍

And it’s not just great fun. Drumming and dancing are a gorgeous way to support our wellbeing too:

🥁 Gets your body moving and your heart rate up
💜 Helps release stress and tension
🧠 Challenges the brain with rhythm, coordination and movement
😊 Can give your mood a lovely boost
💪 Supports balance, coordination and mobility
💚 Brings people together and creates connection
😂 And perhaps most importantly… we LAUGH!

What a way to start a Wednesday morning movement, music, connection and a whole lot of fun!

Fancy joining us? You absolutely don’t need to be able to drum or dance, just come along and have a go. 🥁💃

📱 WhatsApp me on 07902 565210 for details.
Women only and we are in Dawlish.

Come and drum, dance and start your Wednesday feeling GOOD! 💚💜

I’m delighted to be featured in Brainz Magazine, talking about why Drums4Health is so much more than simply exercising to music.

For me, the drum isn’t just a prop. We teach structured rhythmic patterns, which means the brain has a job to do as well as the body.

People are moving, listening, processing, remembering, coordinating—and very often laughing and connecting at the same time.

In the interview, I talk about:

🥁 Why rhythm and movement can make exercise more engaging
🥁 What my background in music, education and fitness has brought to Drums4Health
🥁 Why genuine inclusion must be built into an activity from the beginning
🥁 What our work with people living with dementia is teaching us
🥁 My ambition for Drums4Health to sit at the intersection of physical activity, creative health and preventative wellbeing

My aim isn’t for everyone in the room to do exactly the same thing. It’s for everyone in the room to feel part of the same thing.

Thank you to Brainz Magazine for giving me the opportunity to share the story and thinking behind Drums4Health.

🥁 Some very exciting news for Drums4Health!

I’m incredibly proud that Drums4Health is becoming a Creative Health Placement Partner for the Academy of Nursing at the University of Exeter.

Through the university’s innovative Bridging the Gap programme, student nurses experience community-based and social care placements that explore how creativity, music and movement can support health and wellbeing, reduce social isolation and promote person-centred care.

Students joining Drums4Health will be able to observe and participate in sessions, seeing first-hand how combining rhythm, movement and connection can support physical, mental and emotional wellbeing across our communities.

It is wonderful to see creative and preventative approaches recognised as an important part of healthcare education. I’m delighted that our work will help future nurses explore the value of holistic care alongside traditional clinical practice.

A huge thank you to Cathy Rant and the Academy of Nursing for recognising the potential of Drums4Health and inviting us to be part of this exciting programme.

Growing Drums4Health

Seeing our 5-star reviews means so much to me — but what makes me even prouder is seeing where Drums4Health is heading.

💜 Welcoming new instructors who are preparing to take Drums4Health into their own communities.

💜 Working alongside dementia organisations and seeing first-hand how powerful rhythm, movement and connection can be.

💜 Building relationships with research partners to help strengthen the evidence behind what we do.

What started as an idea to make movement feel more joyful and accessible is becoming something much bigger.

More instructors. More communities. More people moving, drumming and connecting.

And we’re only just getting started. 🥁💜

Our purpose-built Drums4Health fitness & wellbeing drums are now available!

Designed specifically for inclusive rhythm and movement sessions, our drums have been created to make delivering Drums4Health practical in community, education, health and wellbeing settings.

They are:

• Height adjustable for seated or standing activity
• Robust enough for regular group use
• Designed for easy transportation and storage
• Purpose-built for combining drumming, movement and exercise
• Suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities

After working with traditional drums, exercise balls and other alternatives, I wanted equipment that actually fitted the way we deliver Drums4Health — accessible, adaptable and practical.

And here it is. 💜

Our drums are now beginning to make their way into organisations around the UK, alongside Drums4Health training and support.

Move. Drum. Connect.

If you’re interested in bringing Drums4Health into your organisation, community or area, I’d love to hear from you.
