Blackburn Centurions Welcome to the official page for Blackburn Centurions Swimming Club. The coaching team is led by our experienced Head Coach Darren.

Blackburn Centurions is based in the borough of Blackburn with Darwen in Lancashire. Swimming at both Blackburn and Darwen leisure centres, it is the areas premier competitive swimming club. Our goal is to enable swimmers to reach their swim potential within a friendly and driven environment. Congratulations to our 2026 National Qualifiers!

At the end of July, Eliza and Reuben will be representing Centurions at the Swim England National Summer Meet 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, while Tom will compete in Swansea at the Swim Wales Summer Championships 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A great weekend for the club, with young and old(er) in action at Swim League and MicroLeague 🏊

Our Swim League team went so quickly they broke the scoreboard on Saturday and finished a brilliant 3rd in a high class Division One competition.

Sunday saw the return of MicroLeague, giving our younger members some valuable racing experience - each and every one of them rose to the challenge, supporting each other brilliantly all afternoon too.

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers and a big well done to the other teams involved in both events last weekend 👏🏻

Well done to our swimmers who signed off weekend three of the 2026 SENW Summer Regional Championships in Liverpool at the weekend. Reuben managed to add another silver medal to his tally in the 100m Back and narrowly missed out on a bronze in the 200m, while there were final placings for Daniel A and Dana as well.

All in all, our Centurions achieved 1x Gold, 4x Silvers and two bronze medals which put us a creditable 23rd in the medal standings. We had 21 finalists and achieved 19 PBs over the course of the three weekends too. Well done to all our swimmers! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
