It happens to us all from time to time

What is it I tell you? To feel the fear and do it anyway?

Well!
Zoom in on the photo below and see the fear on my face. It’s real!! It was terrifying for just that moment when Casino went from jumping uphill over the broken bridge to heading back down hill to his landing spot on solid ground.

We landed safely and went galloping on to our next cross country jump.

It was amazing 🤩 such a great experience at the SPRA annual
Training Camp at Lindores Equestrian in Fife.

Oops! 🙈 I did it again….

I’ve gone and got another horse...

We have more and more adult clients and have been looking for a while for another weight carrier of a horse to take adults for lessons and for hacks.

Quite often when people have horses for sale they don’t want them to go to a riding school, they have visions of horses working for hours on end, round and round an arena following the horse in front and bored out of their minds.

Well you all know that we are not like that. We are very high welfare and the majority of our lessons are
private one to one sessions, so the coaches work much harder than the horses do!!

We also have stunning countryside to hack in and hopefully will soon have forest rides to add into the mix.

Teds owner was happy with where he was going and I promised her loads of updates.

So…Quentin is officially 15hh

We have owned this lovely boy since he was a yearling. He is now 4 years old and what a beauty he has grown into 🤍🧡🖤

After a few weeks rest at summer grazing he is home to learn some more and I was delighted to notice he is definitely 15hh on the stick now.

We have already done the preliminary stages with him, but he is keen to learn more so watch this space for further progress…..

Time will tell if he becomes an addition to our riding school team, or if he is better off in a private home. I am just so keen to be involved in his development - I love this stage!!

We have spaces!!

Have you ever wanted to ride horses but not been sure where to begin?

Are you looking for a new way to relax, unwind, learn new skills and spend more time out doors in the fresh air?

We are a small horse riding school
based in the beautiful countryside just outside Darvel.

We specialise in private one to one coaching sessions on well trained horses and ponies and have a great reputation.

We welcome adults and children of all ages and experience levels from complete beginners to more advanced riders.

We now have some regular weekly and fortnightly slots become available on a Saturday.

Lessons are £30 for half an hour and £50 for an hour.

If you are tired of us shouting from the other end of the arena, struggle to hear us when the wind is up or just want a different type of coaching experience we have some modern technology to help….

Let me introduce the “Easy Train” wireless instruction system. A simple transmitter with microphone and a receiver with earpiece.

Please let us know if you think you would like to try this in your lessons. It does need charged up before your session.

Please also bring a simple head band to secure our over ear earpiece underneath your riding hat or if you want to bring your own in ear earpiece make sure it has a standard 3.5mm jack

Check out the new boy 👀 👀

I had been looking for another riding school horse for a while with no joy. I do prefer buying horses young and backing them ourselves because then we can put our own stamp on them, and know that we are not trying to undo someone else’s mistakes 🙈

Tyson was advertised locally, and although I did want something a bit taller he is definitely my kind of horse so I couldn’t resist him.

There is a bit of doubt about his age which his previous owner fully disclosed to me. His passport says he is 4 but his teeth definitely say he is three so we will take things slowly with him. 🦷

He has now settled into the herd and has been admired by our Monday night saddle club ladies 😍

We are actively looking for a larger horse for our riding school.

We sometimes get offered horses on loan for a number of reasons and are happy to consider all options.

I was delighted when someone got in touch and offered us a 15yr old 16.1 gelding for the riding school.

I found out a bit of back ground information and drove for two hours to go and see him.

Unfortunately this is what I saw when I arrived….

As you can imagine, I said he was not suitable for the riding school but offered to take him on a livery basis to nurture him, sort out any health issues and get some much needed condition on him.

This was declined and I am happy to say he has now gone to a rescue centre / sanctuary where he will
hopefully live out a happy retirement
