One of the things we love about our rural churches is the welcome & hospitality they offer to visitors.

Like St Raphael's Chapel, part of the The Ashburton & Moorland Mission Community, who welcomed DofE students this weekend as they passed by the church on their trek across Dartmoor.

The students were given guardian angels to hang on their rucksacks, & discovered that St Raphael is the patron saint of travellers.

A moment of holy encounter & encouragement on their journey. 🥾🥾

🌞**CHANGE OF VENUE - NOW AT HOLNE PLAYPARK**🌞

Messy Church Picnic tomorrow afternoon has changed venue… In light of the fabulous weather we’re having this weekend, we’ve had to change the location of the MOOR MESSY PICNIC taking place tomorrow. Our original site was just too exposed.

Instead, to keep things simple, we will meet at Holne Playpark where there is plenty of space and shade for fun, games and fellowship - as well as a small stream running through to help keep us all cool (bring water pistols and squirters - we ‘might’ have a water fight! 🤭)

Don’t forget, we’re providing the picnic so all you need to bring is yourselves - and perhaps a blanket.

See you there - arrive from 2:30 for a 3pm start

Mr Terry Parker gave the Club a fascinating history of St Raphael's Chapel (Huccaby) and its wonderful snowdrops. He concluded his talk by showing us the various ways to increase the number of snowdrops in our gardens. Picture shows Terry, with photographs of St Raphael's snowdrops.
