The hard work, commitment, dedication and resilience you’ve shown both on the pitch and in the classroom should make you incredibly proud. Whatever the results may be, remember that these exams are just one part of your journey, and the determination you’ve demonstrated will serve you well in whatever comes next.

Building Culture, Values and Standards That Last

At Fleetdown United, culture isn’t a slogan on a wall or a conversation had once a season. It is a continuous process of setting standards, reinforcing values, and creating an environment where every player, coach, volunteer, parent and supporter understands what we stand for.

Over the past 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to strengthen the foundations of our club by embedding a clear culture built around Respect, Sportsmanship, Commitment, Accountability, Teamwork, Inclusion and Community. These values are not just words; they guide our decisions, shape behaviours and help create an environment where people can develop, enjoy football and feel proud to be part of Fleetdown United.

As part of this ongoing journey, we recently installed our new FA Respect mesh banner at our training facility. More than just signage, it serves as a visible reminder of the standards and behaviours expected from everyone involved with the club.

The banner was expertly designed and produced by Darent Print, one of North Kent’s most respected and experienced printing companies. Using high-quality mesh material ensures the banner remains highly visible while allowing the elements to pass through safely, reducing wind loading and ensuring long-term durability.

The message is simple but powerful:

Culture isn't built overnight. It's built by people who believe in something bigger than themselves.

Looking back at the journey of Fleetdown United over the past year, it is incredible to see how far we have come.

We started with minimal community and membership engagement, limited interaction across age groups and a club that, like many grassroots organisations, had teams operating largely in their own spaces.

A change in leadership in May 2025 brought with it a simple vision:

One Club. One Community. One Future.

Since then, we have worked tirelessly to reconnect our coaches, managers, volunteers, players and families, creating opportunities for everyone to feel part of something bigger than just their own team.

From introducing monthly activity nights and community events, to strengthening our commercial foundations through FUFC Business Hub Ltd, every step has been about reinvesting in our people and our future.

The real measure of success came this season.

🏆 Senior Presentation Evening bringing our adult section together.

⚽ Whole Club Presentation Day on 5th June, where our mini, junior, girls and women's sections celebrated as one club.

👏 A total of 18 teams united in one event, despite challenging weather conditions, with attendance and feedback far exceeding expectations.

Even more encouraging is that we expect to grow to 21 teams next season, proving that a positive culture attracts positive people.

None of this happens without an incredible army of volunteers, coaches, managers, committee members, sponsors and families who give their time so generously. Your professionalism, commitment and passion are the foundations of everything we are building.

As we now await the decision on our proposed AGP development, we do so knowing that this project is about much more than a football pitch. It is about creating a lasting legacy for our community and future generations.

The journey continues.

What a day!

On behalf of Fleetdown United, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our first-ever whole club Presentation Day. Despite the weather doing its very best to test us, the day turned out to be one to remember.

A special mention must go to our incredible army of volunteers. From setting up in the rain early this morning, helping throughout the day, managing activities, serving behind the scenes and then staying behind to clear everything away, your commitment to this club was there for all to see. Events like this simply do not happen without you.

I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to 1051 (Dartford) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets. The cadets and staff were absolutely outstanding throughout the day, displaying professionalism, enthusiasm, teamwork and maturity beyond their years. Their willingness to volunteer their time and support our event, despite the challenging conditions, was greatly appreciated and they were a credit to themselves, their families and the Air Cadet organisation.

Thank you also to our coaches, managers, players, parents, sponsors and supporters who embraced the occasion with smiles, good humour and true Fleetdown spirit. The weather may not have been perfect, but the atmosphere certainly was.

Yesterday wasn’t just about trophies and presentations; it was about celebrating the people who make Fleetdown United such a special community club. The laughter, friendships and togetherness on display showed exactly what this club is all about.

You should all be proud of what we achieved yesterday. Together, we made our first club-wide celebration a fantastic success and created memories that will last for years to come.

Good morning Fleetdown family,

As we all know, the British weather likes to keep us on our toes! The rain will be with us during this morning’s set-up, although the forecast has improved significantly with the stronger winds now largely disappearing, which is a real positive.

We may see the odd light shower during the afternoon, but after everything our players, coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters and committee members have achieved this season, we’re certainly not going to let a few rain clouds spoil our first-ever whole club celebration.

Today is about recognising the hard work, dedication, friendships, achievements and community spirit that make Fleetdown United such a special club. With a bit of good humour, a positive attitude and the usual Fleetdown determination, we’ll have a fantastic day together regardless of what the weather throws at us.

The show goes on. We look forward to celebrating with you all.
