This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of minifootball in Wales. As the Wales Manager for the GBMFU, you will play a pivotal role in establishing the national setup and representing Welsh talent on the international stage. Working directly with the GBMFU Board of Directors, you will shape the future of this fast-growing sport.
Role Overview
Position: Wales Manager (Minifootball)
Type: Voluntary
Reporting to: GBMFU Board of Directors
Location: Remote / Various locations across England/ Wales (with potential for international travel)
Key Responsibilities
National Team Leadership: Take full responsibility for all on-field elements of the Wales national team, including player scouting, selection, tactics, and match-day management.
Strategic Growth: Collaborate with the GBMFU Board to develop and implement a long-term strategy for minifootball across Wales, focusing on increasing participation and elite performance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary ambassador for Welsh minifootball, building strong relationships with players, local clubs, and fans to foster a "club-like" national team environment.
Operational Management: Oversee the logistics for training camps, friendlies, and competitive tournaments, ensuring compliance with European Minifootball Federation (EMF) and World Minifootball Federation (WMF) standards.
Board Collaboration: Attend regular meetings with the GBMFU Board to report on progress, budgets, and operational governance.
What We Are Looking For
Football Knowledge: A deep understanding of minifootball (5/6/7-a-side) as a distinct discipline, including its unique rules and tactical requirements.
Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead a high-performing team and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to manage complex logistics and schedules.
Commitment to Development: Passionate about growing the game in Wales and providing a platform for players to achieve their potential.
Qualifications: While coaching badges (e.g., FAW/UEFA) are beneficial, we value real-world experience in grassroots or elite football management.
Cultural Fit: An individual who embodies values of respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
