AJ v Paul fight… See it as what ‘ celebity get me out of here’ is to Ed Stafford or Bear Grylls as survivalists or ‘ dancing on ice’ is to Olympic Skaters Torville & Dean or ‘ Pop Idol ’ was to musicians like Elton John or Madonna. An ‘ entertainment version’ of something real. Its a millenial version of the 80s programme’ blagging it’ the notion of a normal person attempting something an expert does?? Im guessing the resentment comes from the fact some are earning more than trained professionals and did not ‘earn ‘ the jouney? Neither did people on ‘ only fans’ and thousands of others getting notoriety from acts of stupidity, vandalism, conspiracy theory, misogyny, violence, s*x acts, racism, etc etc.. its 2025 its what we do now it seems.

The difference between now ( last 10 years) and then is that it is a ‘popularity contest’. Popularity sells. Social media platforms give ‘nobodies’ a voice. Stupidity is on the rise. There is an interest in the actions of a ‘normal’ person . TV programme ‘Big Brother’ shows this clearly. People actually watching ordinary people in a house sleeping, eating & arguing. Who would have thought?? Ed TV became real!!
