A rainy and glum Saturday where nobody expected anything bar a trip to the pub turned into a super Saturday!

The 1s travelled to Barton and skipper Dan Naisbitt luckily did something right winning the toss and chose to bowl first. All 4 bowlers were superb, Marko leading from the front with an impressive 10 overs ending with 4/22. His 3 step run up definitely helped. The other 3 bowlers all ended up with 2 wickets apiece. Toby 2/25, Newts 2/14 and Mubashir 2/21. Special mention to Conor who had an eventful day in the field the ball seemingly following him everywhere!! With the bat Nez and Keith Barker did the job chasing the total down in 14 overs. Nez ending 36 not out, Keith 18. A dominant display and the 1s move onto face MSG next weekend.

The 2s hosted Northallerton 4ths and the road closure making entrance to the ground pretty challenging. Batting first Gary McGuire and veteran Michael Burton put on 68 for the first wicket before the returning Gary was out for 32. Michael ended top scoring with 38. Contributions from Dan Carr 27 and Brad 21 including two massive sixes saw the 2s end up 168 off their 40. With the ball the 2s also stepped up impressively. 7 bowlers used with the pick of the bowlers being James 2/23 and on debut Jess Mansfield impressing with 2/4 off her 5 overs and also contributing a run out. The 2s ended up winning by 64 runs and a trip to Middleton-In-Teesdale Cricket Club awaits next week.

Apologies for the quiet spell on socials with results, but what a way to come back. Superb effort from both sides today....
