The season ends with a 3-0 loss in the final

Congratulations to Staindrop on their win

My lads gave it their all and I’m incredibly proud.

Just want to thank all the support today, really overwhelmed

Massive thank you for to Skerne park pub for being a foundation for the club to grow, Monty and the team have been nothing but good for us since the moment we collaborated.

Thank you to Harry’s taxis for transporting the lads this morning, fine service as always.

And finally thank you to every lad who pulled on the black and red this season….

Last game of the season this morning

Less said about the game the better

Both teams left feeling a little let down by the reffing situation

We ran out 8-3 winners

But honestly it felt like a half assed kick about and not ideal final prep

The boys travelled to Gainford this morning and with a depleted squad

But even with the low numbers and the rain the lads stormed to a 5-0 win in the penultimate league game of the season.

First goal of the game from Mo after some clever football down the left side before it was worked centrally for him to finish.

The second came shortly after when Bruno cleverly cut in and rolled it to Mo for his and or second

The third goal of the game after more good work from Bruno down the byline who steadied himself before cutting back for Mark Cuthbert to stay composed and fire himself right up there in the golden boot race

Second half started and Joe Jackson took to the field for Liam Lowes and not long after the introduction the big man was in the goals as Mark delivered and Joe got across his man to bullet a header home that was game done

The backline for Skerne park was superb today with Brandon even looking to score his own screamer at one point, Andy Orr was fantastic and deserved his clean sheet!

The return of the PB now Phil after a bad ankle injury and several unselfish stints in goal finally returned to the forward line and after a smart throw in by Brandon he span his man and emphatically half volleyed his goal and our fifth

Special mention to the club man Kieran Burlinson who captained the side today for the first time and what better way to do it.
