The journey of the Move to Music Pilates, started 4 years ago when I entered a course to become a Pilates Instructor. I knew very little about Pilates and back then thought that nothing was better than Yoga, which I had practiced for many years.
Now, with more knowledge, thanks to my tutor Helen, and through my own experience where my sports performance has improved and my body feels healthier, stronger, fitter, and more flexible; and all that without injury! I’m a converted instructor that believes in Pilates and its long lasting beneficial effects.
Recently, I have started to experiment using Latin Music to Pilates moves during the class. It’s not an easy task, because I can spend hours seeking for the perfect track, with a tempo and rhythm appropriate to the exercises. But my loyal group at Clifton Road and at Eastbourne sports complex have been open to try new things.
What my class says:
“When I first came to Julia’s Eastbourne class I was fast approaching 60 and whilst I was fairly active , walking and swimming I wasn’t supple or had good core strength. I wanted to do something that would improve my health and well-being. The weekly classes start with a warm up to music and then a time of exercise. Julia explains the exercise and makes sure we do it properly. The groups are small and as well getting a good work out ,there is fun and laughter . “
"I began pilates classes with Julia about 2 years ago at Eastbourne Sports Complex, which is within walking distance for me, so very handy. I am not a physical exercise fanatic but had been left with muscle and joint weakness after an illness and needed to build up strength and mobility. Julia’s class is really enjoyable. She works one very hard, but it pays dividends to health and fitness. I have made such improvement thanks to these classes. The group is very friendly and welcoming and we have fun being together. It is also very reasonably priced compared to similar classes elsewhere.”
