Enjoy our welcoming clubhouse, state-of-the-art Toptracer driving range, and fully stocked pro shop. In a wonderful gently undulating parkland setting, Blackwell Grange Golf Club offers 18 holes of challenging golf to visitors, small parties or larger groups. In addition to the many established trees throughout the course, in the last ten years a further 7,000 specimens have been planted - bringing added beauty to an already remarkable setting.

This Friday and Saturday, alongside our full clubhouse menu, we’ve got a couple of cracking weekend specials:

💚⛳ THANK A GREENKEEPER DAY - 8TH SEPTEMBER ⛳💚

Today is Day, so there’s really only one thing to do…

Give a massive shout-out to the team who keep Blackwell looking as good as it does, week in, week out. 👏

Our greens team are out there early mornings, late evenings, in blazing sunshine, pouring rain, wind, frost and everything else the North East throws at them.

And they’ve done an unbelievable job this year.

The course has been mint, the greens have been immaculate, the tee boxes have looked sharp, the rough has been fair, the bunkers have kept them busy… and yes, they’ve even been called upon to water the hanging baskets. 😂

So today, we salute the Boys in Pink:

It takes a huge amount of work behind the scenes to keep a golf course in great condition, and most of it happens before many of us have even had our first cup of tea.

Greenkeeping is about far more than simply cutting grass. It’s course presentation, plant health, drainage, irrigation, machinery, sustainability, bunkers, trees, paths, weather management and a thousand other jobs that most golfers never see.

So next time you’re out on the course, give the lads a wave, say thank you, and always give them priority while they’re working.

They’re doing it all to make the course the very best it can be for us.

Apologies to all our regular quizzers - you’ll just have to keep all that completely useless knowledge safely stored away for another month. 😂

⛳ YOUR COUNTY CARD IS GOING DIGITAL

Every playing member of a Durham club gets a County Card — free, as part of the affiliation fee you already pay. It gets you a discounted green fee at over 1,300 clubs across the country.

From now on, the card lives in the Golf Genius app. Physical cards are still available from your Club Secretary while stocks last, but they are not being reprinted. Once they're gone, the app is the only way to get one.

Getting the digital card takes two minutes:
1️⃣ Register on the DCGU Golf Genius portal with your WHS/CDH number and surname
2️⃣ Download the free Golf Genius app and sign in
3️⃣ Menu → County Card → add to cart → check out (£0, no payment details needed)
4️⃣ Your card appears in the app — show it on your phone when you book or arrive

43 Durham clubs take part, and your card is valid until your next subscription renewal. Pay your subs, refresh the app, and the expiry updates itself.
