💚SCARBOROUGH 💚

Wow! What an amazing weekend at Scarborough Summer Splash.
We had 41 swimmers competing in a total of 214 swims with a mega 131 Personal Bests which is amazing!! 🤩

Well done to all the swimmers who competed.

Big Shout Out to Teddy K for qualifying for the Junior B Grade Skins, such a great achievement. 👏

Also massive shout out to Emmy N won the Junior A grade Skins with her team mate from Co Sheffield. It was an amazing watch and we were the loudest team in the building! 👏

Fun was had on Saturday Night for the Annual DASC beach games and Sea Dip! 🏖️ 🌊

Thank you to all our Coaches, Team Managers, Shirley our official and our parents for making the trip and making such a great weekend for our swimmers!

Roll on next year!! ☀️ 🏊 💚

📢 SENER Championships (25m) 2026 Update

A big thank you to all Clubs and Coaches who shared feedback on the Championships format — your input has helped shape the final plans.

We’ve now published the Schedule of Events and Qualifying Times for 2026. While we know not every change will suit everyone, we believe this is the best outcome for clubs, swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers across the region.

📍 Ponds Forge, Sheffield
📅 30 October – 1 November 2026
🏊 Friday evening: 800m & 1500m (15+ only)

It’s a busy weekend for DASC right now.

We have a huge number of swimmers competing at the Scarborough Summer Seaside Splash gala 🏖️

This we want to say a massive thank you to all our special volunteers who give up their time to help make DASC the brilliant club it is 💚

Without our army of volunteers we simply could not run the club and whether it be coaching, timekeeping, officiating, being a team manager or being a committee member to name just a few, we simply could not provide the opportunities for swimming and diving that we do.

We want everyone to enjoy going for a swim, but with more and more people heading to the water and tragic drowning incidents once again highlighting the potential risks, below is some key water safety advice to help keep safe around the water:

Know the Water Safety Code

🛑Stop and think; always swim in a safe place
🏊Swim in supervised, lifeguarded areas
🌊Enter the water slowly and carefully

Stay together 🤝
Stay within reach of others, and keep children in arms reach at all times

Float 🛟
If you fall in or become tired, float on your back, breathe, relax and call for help

🚨If you see someone in an emergency:

📞 Call 999 (If you're at the coast, ask for the Coastguard, if you’re inland ask for Fire and Rescue)
🗣 Tell the person in the water to float on their back, breathe, relax
🟡 Throw them something that floats

A shining example of the joy swimming can bring. A DASC champion always 💚

Dorothy Bolton has died at 93. She began swimming as a child in the council baths in & became a world champion, coach to countless youngsters, & close friend of Tarzan actor Johnny Weissmuller. I salute her life in today's The Northern Echo.
