Ride Darlo

Ride Darlo Recreational group bike rides in Darlington, in association with British Cycling as part of Let's Ride. Hello and welcome! Ask for details.

Ride Darlo is a group that runs a series of bike rides in Darlington in association with British Cycling. Part of the Let’s Ride / Guided Rides programme, our rides are designed for fun, recreation, socialising and enjoyment, whilst at the same time meeting new people and light exercise. All rides are designed to start and finish at the same place, involve riding a mixture of different types of routes, using a combination of cycleways and roads (sometimes some light trails) and are designed with different levels of ability in mind. We pick out interesting places to visit in our local area that you may be familiar with, showing how you can travel by bike. Rides always include a stopping point around the half-way mark which is a local eatery where you will be able to get something to eat and drink. All rides are pitched at different levels of ability, these are specified in the ride description and as part of the ride details so you can see which rides are suitable for you. EASYGOING – These rides are the easiest rides and will be suitable for most people, including beginners. They will be of a very short distance (up to 10 miles) and will run at a leisurely pace. STEADY – These rides start to move things along a little faster (up to 20 miles) and are suitable for people who are regular cyclists and able to sustain themselves for longer. CHALLENGING – These rides will go further and faster (over 20 miles) and are suitable only for competent and experienced cyclists who are used to sustaining themselves for several hours on a bike and travelling some distance. Guided Rides are very inclusive, anyone is welcome to join in with a suitable ride and all rides are run to a level which means that no-one is left behind, and we will always ride to enjoy the scenery and surroundings of our beautiful area. Everyone involved in leading our rides and running the group are trained and qualified by British Cycling in both leading and designing rides and routes, plus leaders are First Aid trained. The rides are endorsed by British Cycling as Guided Rides, part of the Let's Ride programme at http://www.letsride.co.uk. Please book onto the rides using the http://www.letsride.co.uk website so we can be sure who is coming, we’re allowed a maximum of 8 riders per leader. Please also remember to cancel your place if you don’t intend to come along. We’re always looking for new Ride Leaders to join, this allows us to increase the number of people who can attend rides. We currently focus on rides mostly suitable for adults. Children are welcome to join a ride suitable for their level of ability, but they must be accompanied by a responsible adult. You must have a bike in good condition and you must wear a helmet to take part in our rides. Your bike will be assessed by ride leaders at the start of a ride. We want everyone to stay safe and enjoy the ride. We look forward to seeing you on our rides! 🚴‍♂️💚
