On a very early and chilly Sunday morning the boys travelled to Acklam to take on Whinny Banks. After a fairly even first 10 minutes Hurworth never got out of second gear and found ourselves well behind at the break as we were punished by some good football by the opposition.

We started the second half a lot better with Oscar getting his second goal of the season as we pushed to try and get back in the game. Unfortunately two quick fire goals from the hosts killed any momentum we were building and Whinny Banks ran out worthy winners.

This morning the kids hosted a very good Prissick side down at Crossfield. The first 10 mins or so Hurworth held their own defending a lot of very good crosses and attacking play from the visitors. Max also starting brightly with some superb saves.

Prissick then showed their quality with two quick goals as a sucker punch after a positive start. Hurworth started to get back into the game with Edward forcing a good save from the keeper and Thomas rattling the crossbar.

Hurworth then shot themselves in the foot allowing one of the Prissick lads to beat 3 players and score at the front post before immediately repeating the play and crossing in for a wonderful finish from the opponent striker. This completely killed our momentum.

Some strong words at HT lead to a better start again from Hurworth boys after the restart. Humphrey and Alfie-Lee putting in some graft and making some wonderful defensive tackles. Jenson and Nathan also working tirelessly to try and get us back into the game. Unfortunately Prissick were just too strong for us today and ran out worthy winners.

We will dust ourselves off and look forward now to a trip to a familiar opponent in Whinny Banks next Sunday. Sometimes lessons have to be learned the hard way! UTA! 💪🏻

This morning the boys had a very early start as we hosted Norton and Stockton. Before the game boys sets of kids were impeccable in observing a minutes silence for Remembrance Sunday.

The game itself was incredibly competitive with both sides restricted to limited chances. Both keepers were like brick walls in the first half which saw us play out a 0-0 draw at the break.

The second half was no different and the game could have gone either way. Luckily for Hurworth we were able to squeeze a half chance home with Oscar getting his first competitive goal for the team since signing in the summer and Hurworth running out 1-0 winners!
