Race report No Limits @ Knockhill
Well after a difficult last two weekends we had a positive weekend finally.
Opted out of doing the Friday testing with a thought on funds and how much I’d actually get out of the day.
Straight into qualifying at 8:30am. This was tough - I knew that everyone would get quicker as the weekend went on so a strong qualifying could put me high up the grid, took me a bit to get going but when I did I broke into my first 54s lap around here which I was happy with and it put me
p8 (p6 in class) 54.761
Race 1 was good, got a decent start and just kept chipping away at the times, made a couple spots up from DNF’s. Very happy with the result considering that it’s a pretty competitive class.
P7 (p5 in class) 54.750
Race 2 on Sunday was a bit frustrating, had the pace on the bike infront all through the first part of the course but wasn’t really gaining in the straights and to be fair, any time I levelled with the guy infront he beat me on the brakes and then a red flag with 2 to go put an end to that chase.
P11 (p8 in class) 54.480 PB
Race 3 left me a bit gutted, changed a tooth on the sprocket and felt right up for it only for me to stall on the line before the race and when I got it fired up and away off the line I realised my quickshifter wasn’t working and I had already lost 3 places going into turn one. All race from there was a slog as there was a crash right infront of me and before I got that out of my head I’d dropped another 3 places. Managed to get back infront of 2 of them but it was a disappointing race and I know I can do better.
P13 (p9 in class) 55.203
Overall a positive weekend and more PB’s in nearly every session. Moving in the right direction and still a lot more to come.
2 more rounds for me this season I think and that’ll be that.
Big thank you to everyone who supports me - we have a lot of exciting things planned for next season so stay tuned 👀
