Race report No Limits @ Knockhill

Well after a difficult last two weekends we had a positive weekend finally.
Opted out of doing the Friday testing with a thought on funds and how much I’d actually get out of the day.

Straight into qualifying at 8:30am. This was tough - I knew that everyone would get quicker as the weekend went on so a strong qualifying could put me high up the grid, took me a bit to get going but when I did I broke into my first 54s lap around here which I was happy with and it put me
p8 (p6 in class) 54.761

Race 1 was good, got a decent start and just kept chipping away at the times, made a couple spots up from DNF’s. Very happy with the result considering that it’s a pretty competitive class.
P7 (p5 in class) 54.750

Race 2 on Sunday was a bit frustrating, had the pace on the bike infront all through the first part of the course but wasn’t really gaining in the straights and to be fair, any time I levelled with the guy infront he beat me on the brakes and then a red flag with 2 to go put an end to that chase.
P11 (p8 in class) 54.480 PB

Race 3 left me a bit gutted, changed a tooth on the sprocket and felt right up for it only for me to stall on the line before the race and when I got it fired up and away off the line I realised my quickshifter wasn’t working and I had already lost 3 places going into turn one. All race from there was a slog as there was a crash right infront of me and before I got that out of my head I’d dropped another 3 places. Managed to get back infront of 2 of them but it was a disappointing race and I know I can do better.
P13 (p9 in class) 55.203

Overall a positive weekend and more PB’s in nearly every session. Moving in the right direction and still a lot more to come.
2 more rounds for me this season I think and that’ll be that.

Big thank you to everyone who supports me - we have a lot of exciting things planned for next season so stay tuned 👀

Another difficult weekend done 😕

Saturday started off a bit crap, took me two practices to get going but then managed to get back into the 1:03s in qualifying

Supersport Q 9th
Sound of thunder 7th

Race 1 went well, decent start and set my PB 1:03.4 and was feeling good again, a lot happier to be closer to the sharp end of the class
P9 (p4 in class)

Race 2 I got a great start and jumped a few spots up to p5 by turn one, there was a lot of scrapping from p2 to me so decided to sit tight and see how things turned out. Decided to try and push on a bit In the second half of the race and felt as though I was down on power as I was pushing hard but times were going backwards - turns out I was 10mph down on the back straight and noticed there was a major issue on the last lap but I brought it home.
P5

Unfortunately that was all she wrote for me this weekend and I missed out on 6 races to make it the second tough weekend in a row.

I would however like to thank all the boys from back home who have all massively helped me after last weeks crash to get back out this weekend, just makes it feel a bit worse that I couldn’t get back out there this weekend.

Big thanks to Liam Hanson Racing #62 for working miracles on those fairings and getting them looking great, also for donating half of his Supersport bike and turning mine into a ZX-675.

Race report East Fortune

Round 7 & 8 of the Scottish championship done ✅

Decided to do 2 classes this weekend and put the old Triumph through her paces with the Sound of Thunder too.

Come away with another 4 tenths off my PB and now more consistently in the 1:03s/low 1:04s but my results in supersport still not great - there’s such a massive depth of quality in that class so I’m trying not to get my head down too much and look at my improvements in lap times again.

Really enjoyed running in the SoT class, was much higher up the field and had a lot of good battles throughout all the races, even tho we had a small off after another bike tucked the front and took me out at the hairpin.

Supersport results:
Q - 12/27 p4 in class
R1 - p17, p7 in class
R2 - p16, p7 in class
R3 - p14, p5 in class
R4 - p18, p8 in class 😕

Sound of Thunder results:
Q - 6/27 p4 in class
R1 - p5, p4 in class
R2 - p6, p4 in class
R3 - DNF on the last lap running p6
R4 - p5, p4 in class

Overall a positive weekend and although results haven’t been great in supersport I’m still right in the mix for a top 3 finish in the championship in the supersport cup class even though I missed a round a few weeks ago and it was great having some special guests on the Sunday too EEloise SSpeirs

Race report from sunny Croft 🏁

Had an absolute blast this weekend at No Limits Racing.

I came into the weekend thinking that I would be right at the back as I had to race in the Club Sport Cup class which is the step above the novice class I ran at Anglesey last year where I was lucky to be in the top 20.

Friday test day was a great start to the weekend, learning the track and going quicker in every session.

Qualifying was great, I had no idea where I’d end up and stuck it in 10th place in class out of 18 - 16th overall.

Race 1 was okay, a little timid into turn one cost me a few spots and with it being a shorter race i struggled to make time back up. P11 in class - 16th overall.

Race 2 I started 18th and had a better start and kept my nose clean bringing it back in 10th in class - 13th overall.

Race 3 was fantastic, started this one in 17th and got a great start, was up to 13th by turn one. I managed to get to a good pace early on and settled in with some bikes in different classes, dropped down to 14th and then up to 13th by the last lap when I was in a race with 3 riders in front. I was running on empty after a full weekends riding but decided to give it my all and made 3 positions up on the last lap to take me into the top 10 overall and 8th in class.

Considering I thought I’d be at the back this weekend to have 2 top 10 finishes and an 8th place with consistent new PB’s in every race has made this weekend one of the best I’ve ever had whilst racing. My confidence is so high right now and can’t wait to keep it going.

I have a 6 week gap now until my next meeting at east fortune and to be honest, I’m looking forward to the break and spending some time with family.

Just want to give a massive thank you to Liam Hanson Racing #62 and all of the guys and girls in the Royal Navy Motorsport awning for having me this weekend. I have had the best time and can’t wait for the next no limits at Knockhill 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😄

Thank you again for everyone who helps make this happen

Absolutely mega weekend at Croft this weekend. Will post a full breakdown of the weekend tonight or tomorrow but thought I’d share the last lap of the last race. Was running on empty but decided to throw everything at it and made up 3 spots to get into the top 10 in a very competitive class. Loving this camera, there’s endless possibilities with it but unfortunately I’ll only be able to run it at certain rounds as the SACU prohibits the use of on board cameras which is a shame but I’ll still get the chance to use it every now and then.

Back from another great week at the North West 200.

I was on the other side of the fence this week and it was great catching up with all the boys that made the trip over in memory of my dad with me and also seeing a lot of faces in the paddock who I haven’t seen in a long time.

My thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of Kamil Holan after his accident on the Thursday morning, our sport can be so cruel.

My attention now turns to this weekend as we are back at East Fortune for the Tom Dickie meeting - my aims are just to have a good weekend and hopefully improve on my PB again, however the weather is looking a bit suspect 😕☔️
