🔵⚪️ GOALKEEPER WANTED – TEESSIDE JUNIORS U13s 🔵⚪️

We’re looking for a goalkeeper to join our U13s squad for the current season.

We’re a good, competitive mid level team with a great group of lads and coaches, and we’re looking for someone who wants to come in, enjoy their football and make the goalkeeper position their own.

🔵⚪️ AYCLIFFE 2-8 JUNIORS ⚪️🔵

First game of the season and it was a cold, wet one! It probably showed for the first 10/15 minutes as Aycliffe started the quicker of the two teams. We were a little bit sloppy and slow coming out of the blocks, but once we got that first goal we seemed to settle down and started to take control of the game.

I thought the first half was fairly scrappy overall, but there were some really good bits of football in there and thankfully a few of those moments ended with the ball in the back of the net. Once we got going the goals started to come and the lads raced into a 6-0 lead before half time.

The rain came down even heavier in the second half and the game got a bit sloppier with it. We gave away a silly penalty which Aycliffe put away to make it 6-1, then a mix up at the back gifted them another goal which we definitely could have avoided.

The lads didn’t let it bother them though and finished the game strongly, adding another two goals late on to make it 8-2 and get our first three points of the season on the board.

Got to give Aycliffe’s keeper some credit as well. He made a few really good saves throughout the game and stopped the scoreline from getting any bigger.

Opposition Man of the Match went to Aiden. Another great game from him, a constant handful and used his strength brilliantly all game. He also got himself on the scoresheet to get off the mark for the season. Well done Aiden 👏🏼

Plenty we can improve on and definitely a bit of rust still there, but you can’t complain about starting the season with eight goals and three points.

The season kicks off today with the opener away to Aycliffe. The boys have had a great pre season, multiple tournament wins and also some fantastic friendly wins.

We’re all excited for the season and confident the boys can have another great run. We’ve got a fantastic bunch of players who are all eager to go!

Let’s hope we can kick the season off with a bang!

Another fantastic season finished, presentation today to wrap up the u12s campaign.

Firstly a massive thank you to Buckley Specialist Recruitment who have sponsored the team for this season and next. Their help and support has made sure we look the best we can do whilst lifting all these trophies.

“Players Player - Very worthy winner of this years award, I can’t disagree with what the players have picked, he’s been absolutely fantastic and I can’t believe the player he’s become, he joined us when he was massive, left us when he was a bit bigger and the rejoined and become the best striker we’ve ever seen. He’s been an absolute machine upfront and been a massive part of our second half of the season. Massive well done to Aiden”

TEESSIDE JUNIORS ONE TO WATCH -

“One to watch trophy - a new trophy this year and I feel it’s been the right time to introduce it, it’s an award for a player who us coaches think is going to be the star man next season due to what we’ve seen recently. This winner could’ve been in for a shout for most of the awards today but just got going a little too late into the season however he’s been unbelievable and really took on board everything that’s been said, great attitude all the time. TEESSIDE JUNIORS MOST IMPROVED PLAYER -

“Most Improved - I think this years winner has kind of really fulfilled the meaning of most improved, it’s a player who to start with didn’t play too much and then worked his way into the team and made the position his and ended the season with him in mind for the other awards as he finished the season very very well and was probably the best performer in the team. I think I’ve heard him say 2 words all season and he’s listened to 2 words all season but that doesn’t matter as he’s been excellent. Most Improved player of the year is Josh”
