Race recap - Croft
Saturdays qualifying session was not ideal - with a safety car and yellow flags taking valuable time, I found it tough to find a space to get in a clear lap. This meant we were starting p33 with a lot of work to do. With Shannon starting, and then Magdalena both putting in great clean stints, I finished the race as strongly as I could (especially given it finished under a red flag about 9minutes before the end) putting in great consistent lap times matching my test pace (and scoring the teams 3 fastest laps). I was chasing down the car in front and brought the gap down from over 1 lap to only 15 seconds by the finish, so all in all was pretty happy.
Saturdays finish position determined Sundays grid, so we started p28 for Race 2. We switched up the driver order with Magdalena starting. I was out next, spending most of my stint in a pack of cars fighting the whole time, which was incredibly fun, great clean, close racing, and brilliant for my race craft development. Again I was pleased I put in consistent lap times, again getting the teams top 3 fastest laps, and my fastest lap of the weekend. I managed to get us from P30 into P15 before pitting for our driver swap, and we definitely had the pace to finish in the top 20-25.
Overall a weekend full of learning, gaining experience and improving for me, I improved on my first test times by over 4 seconds and I'm now getting more and more confident battling out on track - I'll have some footage up very soon.
Thanks once again to for all of your hard work and support the whole weekend - and in particular to Nick and Phil for their advice, tips, oh and soaking us with champagne too ๐พ ๐
Also massive thanks to our sponsors - your support means we can go racing!! ๐
Here's hoping we can finish the season on a high at Snetterton on 15th October - if you'd like to be involved, please get in touch ASAP!
