Directly following the Conference held on the 8th and 9th of September, we are delivering the CPD-certified Advanced Certificate in the of Venues training programme!

Delegates from across the cultural and heritage sectors have joined us in Darlington for this two-day training. This morning, training covered the threats that face cultural and heritage venues, and the attack cycle.

After lunch, we continued with situational awareness, surveillance detection, effective operational practices, and creating security in depth. The session on security in depth included a hands-on activity demonstrating how a layered approach to protective security measures increases their effectiveness!

We are looking forward to the second day of the programme in which delegates will conduct risk assessment and vulnerability assessment activities!

This week, our Junior Security Consultant Hannah Miller received her certificate for completing the Level 3 Counter Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness qualification.

Hannah said, “I’m really proud to have been awarded the Level 3 CTPSAP certificate this year. It is an excellent qualification that has enhanced my understanding of terrorist threats, as well as providing a structured framework to help me make informed decisions and protective security considerations. I'm especially glad to have been able to complete the qualification with TMTA, who place such a strong emphasis on the quality of delivery.”

remains a powerful symbol of resilience and preparedness. The introduction of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (TPoP), known as Martyn's Law, is a significant milestone in enhancing protective security standards and helping venues and events better safeguard the public.

We are proud to be delivering NaCTSO and SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness at HOMEManchester in September.

This qualification will:
✅ Provide learners with knowledge and understanding of NaCSTO’s approved approach to meeting the compliance requirements of the TPoP Act 2025.
✅ Help learners understand terrorist threats by utilising the ‘5+1’ approach.
✅ Provide learners with the skills to undertake a Counter Terrorism Risk Assessment (CT-RA).
✅Enable learners to develop CT Preparedness Plans that help reduce the risk to their organisation and enable the timely resumption of business.
✅Provides the learners with the skills and abilities to prepare written recommendations for senior leaders, helping them make informed decisions.
