Dalry Thistle FC 2015’s

Saturday brought the biggest fixture in Scottish football this weekend when Dalry Thistle Whites hosted Dalry Thistle Reds in the AYFL League.

In a match of 3x 20 minutes Dalry Reds started magnificently passing the ball around and creating loads of chances. The reds went in to the first interval 1-0 up after a brilliant passing move was finished by Lucca Wierzbicki much to the delight of the away fans.

In the second part of the match. Dalry whites turned on their quality and looked to Jack Pughe to get their equaliser with a brilliant finish in to the corner. This was the turning point in the match. Shortly afterwards Pierce McDermott nipped in at the back post and got his goal.
Robbie Gartland got the match by the scruff and got himself a rapid double before the end of the 2nd period. Robbie showed absolutely amazing skills weaving himself through the Reds’ midfield and finishing brilliantly.

In to the final part of the match and Robbie G secured his hattrick with an unbelievable header at the back post. The Reds kicked themselves in to gear after a very productive team talk. 3 goals without reply for the reds got them back into the match at 5-4. Gregor Devine scoring a banger from distance and Lucca Wierzbicki getting another 2 goals including a penalty to complete his hattrick.

As the Reds pushed on for the equaliser, Robbie swung in a corner that somehow missed everyone and went in at the back post.

Whites man of the match (Joint) - Francis Friels & Kyle McCourt

Francis and Kyle going under the radar doing all the hard work that usually goes unnoticed. Great in the tackle and creating so many attacking opportunities.

Reds Motm - Jax Harkins

With the reds’ usual goalkeeper not available, Jax stepped up to the plate and played amazing. He was your traditional sweeper keeper mopping up any trouble and his distribution was top class.

This week our Red squad travel to Ardeer Thistle FC 2015's and our White squad host Kilwinning Rangers 2015.

Today’s 🟥 match was Dalry Reds v Cumnock Milan.

Tough match for our boys who started very slow today. Cumnock got a hold of the game and scored a few goals.

In the second half Dalry sprung to life and started putting some pressure on Cumnock. We were rewarded with a couple of very well worked goals when Ruairidh was on the end of a brilliant pass from Lucca and scored at the back post.

Lucca then got himself a goal with a tremendous strike from distance that found the bottom corner in to a top goalkeeper.

Throughout the match, even during the tough first half, our reliable defender Adam played outstanding. He was smashing in to tackles and controlling the match with his composure and passing.

Today’s ⬜️ match was Bonnyton Th. v Dalry Whites

Dalry whites faced very tough and well organised opposition in Bonnyton thistle at their home pitch.

Bonnyton started brilliantly taking a healthy lead.

Dalry finally clicked in to gear and started playing to the standard we know.

Charlie Smashed in a long range goal followed by another fantastic strike from Adam straight after.

Goal of the day from Charlie got Dalry’s third goal when he rifled a shot from almost half way in to the top bins and Pierce got our late equaliser with a well worked team goal and nice finish.

Massive shout out to our goalie, Dylan. He has been outstanding pre season and carried on his form in to the new season. Today was no exception, pulling off some top drawer saves. 🧤

Well done Bonnyton, good luck for the season.

Our Dalry Thistle Reds host Cumnock Juniors 2015 and our Dalry Thistle Whites travel to Kilmarnock to play Bonnyton Thistle.

🟥 Dalry Thistle Reds 🟥

What a goals galore morning of football in our first match back this season against Auchinleck Talbot 2015.

Two teams out there trying their best and there was 14 fantastic goals shared between us.

Our striker, Mr Cool (Lucca) was out there doing what he does best and scoring goals. Every half opportunity to nick the ball off the defenders and go through on goal he took it. Lucca bagged himself 4 goals today.

With only one of the Macleod brothers playing today due to Calum’s illness, Ruairidh had to do the family super proud on his own. Not only did Ruairidh score a hattrick, two of which were goals in the last 2 minutes to draw us level, he sprinted back and sliding cleared an almost certain goal for Talbot off the line.

Defensively Adam put in another 9/10 performance. Very assured in the tackle, and his distribution from that left foot of his is pinpoint.

Big thanks to Jax and Zander who took turns in goals as our goalkeeper wasn’t there today.

We begin our new season in the Ayrshire youth football league with the Red squad travelling to play Auchinleck Talbot 2015 and our White squad hosting Whitletts Vics 2015s .
