More track building happening tomorrow night and Friday at Musselburgh - Monarchs BMX Club. If you can help they'd really appreciate it. It's almost rideable and it's looking fantastic, can't wait to see it open.

Good morning, Musselburgh - Monarchs BMX Club has reached out to us to ask for help finishing off the BMX track this coming Sunday 12th of August from 10am.

We went to the the track last night and it looks amazing. This is a race standard track that will serve the cycling community of the lothians for years to come and it has plenty to offer all levels of cyclists.

The layout with the heavy machinery is all done and now the manual surfacing is ready to go. All the materials are on site and we just need lots of volunteers to help spread the surface material. The task is large, OK its massive, but with enough hands on Sunday the job can be done.

Once the surface is on the track will be rideable and if we get enough people there on Sunday we reckon it could be completed.

The whole project has been done on a shoe string budget using every penny of the clubs funds, track material from East Lothian Council and most importantly hard graft by the clubs members.

Please come and help if you can, and if you have any tools such as a shovel, rake or a wheel barrow then please bring them if you can. We'll have lots of tools there but if we get a large turn out then the more the merrier.

Hope to see you there this Sunday 🚲 🚲 🚲

Looking good at the BMX track.

Looking good at the BMX track.

Progress continues at Musselburgh. The track shaping has now been finished. Our track builder Johnny Hamilton has done an amazing job for us. There are plenty of jumps on it so it will be fun to ride. It’s now onto the hardcore and top surface whilst we have the machines on site this week. Thanks to ELC for supplying the materials and also to our group of Volunteers who have been a god send. If you’d like to help out, please get in touch!

Here's some snaps of one of our club members gliding to a fourth place in last week's British downhill championships, master class, at the Glencoe Mountain range. Conditions were tough and it's an achievement just to make it down in one piece sometimes. With the downhill Scottish championships coming up in August on the World Cup track at Fort William and 2 members entering, we're hoping for good things for our riders and we'll let you know how they get on.

If there are any local MTB, DH or XC riders who are interested in getting into racing then get in touch with us as we have a community of members who will help you get going......the rest is up to you.
