Sad News today
Our old Freind Deeks ( Derek Wilson) who was a big part of our football club & its success over the years has sadly passed away a good man & will be sadly missed by all who new him.
A character he sure was but like us all very passionate about supporting local teams especially his time involved with Danderhall Amateurs & also part of the huge success Mayfield & Easthouses Amateurs during our 10 year spell involved with the Sunday & Saturday Amateurs leagues where we won many trophies & leagues & glad to say Deeks was part of that journey.
R.I.P. Derek.

Well we started of as Mayfield & Easthouses AFC away back in 2006 with an Australian Goalie in our first season.
Went on to establish ourselves as a good team in the Sunday League & won the league & a few cups after a few seasons then in 2011 moved to a Sat League & hit the road running winning the league twice in a row with a 100% unbeaten record & winning a couple of cups beating premier league teams on our way.
By the 2013/14 season we were well establish in the second tier of the Lothian Amateur league & were chasing promotion & still wining cups
Same again in season 14/15 but getting tougher.
This season was 10 years since we started & something to be proud of & we had high hopes of winning at least a cup this season to help celebrate 10 years being together sadly it has not turned out like that for a number of reasons ' after a long time thinking about it the Management have decided to call it a day & call time on the team after 10 years
A sad day & we are all gutted about it
But it was for the best as we were struggling for a team week in & week out for a number of reasons.
So it's all over now we had some great times on the journey over the last 10 years some great cup wins with the players & supporters which will never be forgotten by those who took part or were there.
Like to thank the Management for all their hard dedicated work over the years & also the many players who stuck with us over that Journey
With out you guys there would be no memories so thanks to all the former players & the currant players for some great times & great laughs.

Mayfield & Easthouses AFC - V - Hermiston Star at the Gyle Sat 27th Feb
League game 2.00pm K/Off.
Score: 3-5
Scorers: Gavin(1), Mitchell (1), Moncreif(1).
Bad result on Sat & to be honest they deserved it as more hungrier team on the day we were awful the first 25 mins & were 2 goals down by then before we started to put some decent moves together to trouble the young Hermiston team who were all full off running throughout the game.
We scored three very good goals with Gavin's being the pick of them all from 40 yards to hit the roof of the net but after fighting to get back to 3-3 with 10 mins to go we shot ourselves in the foot when they scored another two goals in last 10 mins to run out deserved winners.

Mayfield & Easthouses AFC - V - East Linton FC
Sat 28th Nov at Easthouses
1.30pm K/Off South of Scotland Cup.
Score: 1-3
Scorer: Moncreif
Well revenge is sweet & so it proved for East Linton as they gained revenge for us beating them in the cup a few weeks back & it showed as they scored their third goal when their goalkeeper ran the length of the park to celebrate the clinching goal in a hard fought game.
East Linton deserved this victory but they had to work hard for it & only got their second goal with 12 mins to go.
We were 1-0 up at H/T with a penalty scored expertly by Moncreif who was later sent off for two book able offences soon after they had equalised but East Linton came out the blocks at the start of the second half & they had us camped in our own half defending attack after attack as we could not get out of our own half.
We defended well but we gave the ball away time after time against a fit side & also the team sitting at the top of the premier league so no disgrace to loose to them in this hard fought cup tie.
Good luck to East Linton FC
We need to re group & look forward to our next game.

South of Scotland Cup

This should be a cracking game in the cup between the team sitting top of the premier league & ourselves.
They will be wary of us as a few weeks back we beat them down at their home ground 2-1 in the cup & deserved to win.
So they will be out for revenge but we are aware of that & need to be aware of the danger they present to us on Sat
If we show the desire & teamwork that we showed the last time we beat them we won't be far away.

Mayfield & Easthouses AFC - V - Edinburgh Alba FC at Easthouses - Sat - 14th Dec - League Game at Easthouses.

Score: 5-1
Scorers: Hughes (2), Moncreif (1), B Dillon (1), O.G.

Good result today against a decent team who liked to play football.
After a shaky start we started to dominate & create chances & scored three good goals to go in 3-0 at H/T
We dominated second half & went 5-0 up only to loose a soft goal with 10 mins to go then after a bad decision by the ref who gave a penalty against us our Goalie got sent off for Disputing the decision then we lost our discipline & a further two were sent off reducing the team to 8 players.
They missed their penalty we held out to win 5-1 & take 3 good points.
Although the result was tainted by three stupid sending offs which will cost us dear later in the season.
Our Goalie Chris had a great game today along with Dewar who was outstanding.
