South Uist & Eriskay Amateur Athletics Club

South Uist & Eriskay Amateur Athletics Club South Uist & Eriskay Amateur Athletics Club was set up in August 2011 and caters for all abilities and aspects of the sport of athletics.

This ranges from track and field to cross country and road running. Club training nights are at Daliburgh School on a Wednesday, 6pm to 7.30pm. The club is run by a committee who are all unpaid volunteers, encompassing a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Welfare Officer and 7 other elected members including 2 young athlete representatives. All committee members are elected at the AGM

which is usually held in August. All our club coaches are unpaid volunteers who have gone through UK:Athletics Coaching Courses to obtain a UKA coach license which is a statuary requirement to coach athletics at various levels. All qualified coaches have been disclosed by the CRB (Central Registered Body in Scotland).

‼️REMINDER‼️

We will be joining North Uist AAC sessions at Liniclate Track every Thursday from 6.30–8pm.

This is a great opportunity. It encourages healthy habits through regular exercise, helping to improve strength, coordination, and overall fitness. Participating with other children also promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and the development of social skills as they learn to support and compete with one another.

Additionally, these trips to the track will allow the children to build confidence and discipline, as they set goals and work towards personal achievements in a fun, structured environment.

This opportunity open to children from P4 upwards. Car sharing can help ease the load – please consider sharing lifts!

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a power-walker, this is your sign to get out and MOVE! No pressure on pace — just show up, have fun, and do it for YOU.

‼️South Uist & Eriskay AAC – Update ‼️

South Uist & Eriskay Amateur Athletics Club has been quiet in recent years but work and effort has been ongoing in to recruiting and upskilling volunteers. While we’re not yet able to run our own sessions in Daliburgh due to the lack of a Level 2 Athletics Coach, we’re excited to share that we now have seven qualified Coaching Assistants on board!

To help them gain experience and keep athletics going for the children, we’ll be joining North Uist AAC sessions at Liniclate Track every Thursday from 6.30–8pm. This opportunity is open to children from P4 upwards.

We know travel is a commitment, but car sharing can help ease the load – please consider sharing lifts!
