🏆 Club Championship Finals Day 🏆

It was Club Championship Finals Day on Saturday, with five great finals taking place across the day.

We started with the Women’s Singles, with Fallon taking on Alison. It was Fallon who came out on top in an entertaining affair. 🎾

Next up was the Men’s Singles, with Adam taking on John. Both men played brilliantly, but it was defending champion Adam who came out on top. 🏆

We then moved on to the Women’s Doubles, where Erin and Liz took on Abby and the newly crowned singles champion, Fallon. Erin and Liz fought hard, but it was Abby and Fallon who cruised to victory.

The Men’s Doubles followed, with Colin and Darren taking on the two singles finalists, Adam and John. In an entertaining match that felt like it lasted all afternoon, Adam and John eventually edged their way to victory.

Last up was the Mixed Doubles, with Dan and Fallon taking on Adam and Abby. With one of Adam or Fallon guaranteed to complete a clean sweep, it was Adam who would achieve it, as he and Abby came through a thrilling contest to take the title! 🎾🏆

Once play had finished, we held our annual end-of-season celebration and trophy presentation. As is tradition, Dov was on duty as quizmaster — and, as usual, the quiz caused more drama than the tennis! 😂

We finished the night with some music, drinks and plenty of celebrations.

A huge well done to the winners and to all the players who competed throughout the year, and a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported Finals Day. 👏

And finally, a special mention to everyone behind the scenes who helps make days like this happen. Your hard work often happens away from the spotlight, but it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed 🎾🏆

Tomorrow is the big day, it is the club championship finals day. Play starts from 12 noon, with the following matches:

Women's singles final- Fallon McGImpsey vs Alison Rzepecki

Mens singles final- Adam Maxwell vs John Picken

Women's doubles final- Fallon & Abby vs Liz & Erin

Mens doubles final- Adam & John vs Darren & Colin

Mixed doubles final- Adam & Abby vs Fallon & Dan

There will also be a BBQ throughout the day and our end of season celebration from 6:30pm in the evening. All are welcome and we hope to see you there 😊

The Club Championship Finals will take place this coming Saturday (5th) from midday.

The order of play will be as follows -

Womens Singles (12pm)
Mens Singles (no earlier than 1pm)
Womens Doubles (no earlier than 2pm)
Mens Doubles (no earlier than 3pm)
MIxed Doubles (no earlier than 4pm)

The end of season celebration will then commence from approximately 6:30pm. This will be a BYOB event with music and a quiz and everyone is welcome, so please come along and support the players and club 😊

🏆In the first running of the re-vamped Carl White Trophy on the 15th of August, 11 men competed for the doubles title on the Dalbeattie courts.

There should have been 12 but a late call off made the draw difficult.
Thanks go to Paul Boardman for organising.

Couples were split into two groups of which Paul and Bruce Todd won Group 1, with runners-up Grant McVinnie and Tim Ruge. In Group 2 Geoff Legg and Adam Maxwell won with Dan Donley and Colin Kennedy runners-up.

In the semi-finals Paul and Bruce beat Dan and Colin 6 - 4 and Geoff and Adam beat Grant and Tim also by 6 - 4. In an entertaining final watched by an enthusiastic gallery, the blend of youth and experience proved too much for Paul and Bruce and Geoff and Adam ran out 6 - 2 winners.

Thanks go to Ismay Murray for promoting the event and presenting the trophy, and to her husband Rab for manning the barbecue.

The next big event will be Club Championship Finals Day which is scheduled for Saturday, September 5.

There are still spaces for this Saturday's Carl White Competition.
It is a Mens Doubles Comp and is free to enter 😀 We are hoping to get a big entry as this is the first year running the comp in its current format.
