We are so happy to support our very own Sam. The multi talented sportsman of our shop. He is happy to answer all the fishing questions and show off his amazing catches. The picture with his fish which hangs in the shop and shows his expression is priceless. Pop in for a look and a chat. Keep up the good work Sam. 🎣 ⚽️ 🎯 ⛳️

*Something a bit different*

A few weeks ago, I was asked if I would be able to run the Dog Show at this year's Stewartry Show. If I'm entirely honest, this is something that is totally out of my comfort zone but I thought it's good to try new things sometimes so I found myself saying yes! Imagine my surprise when Conor excitedly asked if he could help me!

So I'm very pleased to say it'll be a true family effort as we tackle our very first Stewartry Show Dog Show tomorrow.

I've spent the last few weeks approaching businesses to see if they'd be willing to donate some prizes. M Mccowan And Son have always been great supporters of the Dog Show and continue to support it this year so firstly we'd like to say a huge thank you to Eric McCowan and Gillian Armstrong for their generous donations. Secondly I'd like to say thank you to Zoe Houston at Dixie Dogs Grooming Salon for donating a fantastic hamper and also to Ruth at Co-op in Castle Douglas and finally to Kate at Tesco in Castle Douglas for also donating prizes.

So if you're at a loose end tomorrow and fancy coming along to see us and better still to enter your dog into one of the classes, the Dog Show starts at 12pm. Last entries are at 11.45am. Their are 9 classes and all the first places from those classes go on to be entered into the Best in Show. Entries are £2 per dog per class.

Conor and I would like to point out that we won't be doing the judging, that job falls to one of our local vets so bribes of wine for me and Pokemon cards for Conor won't be necessary but will still be accepted 🤣🤣
