What a weekend at the UK Lions Regional Championships in Nottingham! 🧡

We're incredibly proud to see Gwent so well represented both on and off the pitch.

A huge shoutout to Tobias, who spent the weekend giving back to the game by coaching and helping inspire the next generation of players.

On the pitch, William and Gryf both put in outstanding performances, showcasing their talent and representing the club brilliantly throughout the tournament.

A special congratulations to Gryf, who picked up a well-deserved Player of the Match award for his Trophy Team after an excellent performance. 👏

It's fantastic to see our players representing Gwent Hockey Club with such commitment, skill and sportsmanship. We're proud of every one of you. 🧡

🌡️ SUMMER LEAGUE UPDATE 🌡️

Due to the extreme temperatures and with player welfare as the top priority, the South Wales Mixed Summer League fixtures for the week commencing 22nd June have been cancelled.

While we're all disappointed not to be getting out on the pitch, the decision has been made by thr SW Mixed Hockey committee with the safety of players, umpires and volunteers in mind.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and we'll see you all back out there soon 🧡

🏑 Plenty of hockey, plenty of sunshine, and plenty of tired legs at Cwmbran Stadium today!

It was great to welcome the 2026 with support from our friends at and 🧡

Across four games, there were some brilliant performances all round, with the girls giving the Dragons Trophy and Championship squads a great test.

For some of our younger players, this was their first taste of 11-a-side hockey - and they looked right at home 🧡

A huge well done to everyone involved, and best of luck to the players and coaches heading to Nottingham in a few weeks. Go well, Dragons! 🧡

At this point, second place deserves its own shout-out... 🥈

Gwendda are sitting second in Division 3, while Gwent B are also second in Division 2, just two points off top spot. Meanwhile, Gwent A are holding fifth in Division 1, with second-placed Bridgend up next.

Gwent A are coming into this one full of confidence after last week's 3-1 win over Swansea 🙌

Gwent B put their unbeaten record on the line against Whitchurch B in a game that could have a big say at the top of Division 2 👀

Meanwhile, Gwendda take on league leaders Neath, with just two points between the teams. No pressure then... 😅

🧡 More Wales Masters success for our Gwent stars! 🏑

After a weekend of fiercely contested matches against England, Ireland and Scotland, we're delighted to celebrate two special achievements from the Wales O35s Masters squad.

👏 Martha was named Player of the Match against Scotland after a standout performance in a feisty encounter.

🌟 Rosie was voted Players' Player of the Tournament by her teammates - a fantastic recognition from the people who shared the pitch with her all weekend.

A huge congratulations to both, and to Leanne for proudly representing Wales alongside them. We're incredibly proud to have all three wearing Gwent colours throughout the season and Wales colours on the national stage 🧡
