Fairwater-Runners-Cwmbran We’re a fun, friendly club that welcomes all abilities

📍 Meeting Point: Cwmbran Stadium Fairwater RoadRunners was officially formed in September 1983.

As interest in running grew a need for "fun" clubs to support those who fancied "jogging and running" was identified. So it was that Fairwater RoadRunners was born with the name later being revised to Fairwater Runners as other disciplines like track, x-country, tri-athalons and fell running were included. Although it started as a "fun" club many members have gone on to gain County and National re

cognition on Road, Country and Fell. Fairwater Runners prides itself in having fun while running and welcomes men and women of all abilities and ages.

🐦Crows Corner of Awesomeness 🐦

After a very busy week of hosting Rack Raid and attending the GLCL at Penalta, to where Islwyn Running Club were hosts.

Two of our Fairwater-Runners-Cwmbran runners entered a Fell race that certainly tested their endurance, will and determination.

⛰️ Four Fan Fell Race. 🎽

This mammoth and mind blowing event, consisted of a race that covered the distance of 18km (11.2 miles), which competitors raced in the mountain of Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).

The race featuring 1,200m (3,940ft) of ascent, which wasnt the only challenging aspect of this race. As the course takes runners over four iconic summits—Fan Fawr, Fan Llia, Fan Nedd, and Fan Frynych—starting from the Storey Arms on the A470.

Our runners of Emma and Andy, who are seasoned Fell racers, who are dedicated to their craft. Stated how challenging and demanding this course really was. With both runners feeling the affects of running.

Well done to both runners for being both brave and bold in tackling such a difficult and challenging course.

Fairwater-Runners-Cwmbran would like to take the time to wish our runners, families and extended running family the very best for the upcoming week.

Please remember to stay hydrated, to eat well and to stay safe as always.

🏃‍♂️💙 FAIRWATER RUNNERS PARKRUN ROUND-UP 💙🏃‍♀️

Another fantastic Saturday morning with Fairwater Runners represented across several parkruns! Brilliant to see so many of our members out there flying the Fairwater blue flag, whether chasing goals, enjoying some parkrun tourism, or simply getting another great run done. 👏

📍 Cwmbrân
A strong turnout from Leon, Michael, Julie, Stuart, Michael, Mark, Martyn, Stewart, Richard and Graeme. Some excellent performances across the board with plenty of determined running on display!

📍 Bryn Bach
Mark was representing Fairwater here and putting in another solid run.

📍 Llanfoist Crossing
Ieuan and Sarah took on Llanfoist Crossing and continued the club’s presence across South Wales.

📍 Ludlow
A bit of tourism for Leonie, enjoying a run at Ludlow and representing the club away from home.

📍 Riverfront
Alison was in action here, adding another parkrun to the weekend’s impressive club total.

📍 Tewkesbury
Emma headed over to Tewkesbury and put in a great run.

A huge well done to everyone who got out there this weekend. Whether you were running, walking, volunteering, cheering others on, or travelling to a new venue, you’re all a credit to the club. 💙

And as always, a massive thank you to all the volunteers who make parkrun happen every single week. Without them, none of it would be possible. 🙌
