Congratulations to Croesyceiliog RFC Chairman, Alan Hiatt, for his award. An inspiration to us all.

Volunteer, Alan Hiatt, has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for his outstanding dedication to Hafan Deg Ward at County Community Hospital.

Alan began volunteering more than 10 years ago after experiencing first-hand the care and compassion shown by staff at County Hospital in Pontypool when his wife was a patient. Wanting to give something back, he committed his time to supporting others – and has since become an invaluable part of the ward team.

Known for his warmth, reliability and genuine kindness, Alan brings comfort and reassurance to patients every day. His presence helps create a welcoming, supportive environment for both patients and staff, and his impact is deeply felt across the ward.

This honour recognises not only Alan’s personal commitment, but also the vital role volunteers play in enhancing care and supporting NHS services.

Today our U7s also had a great day and joined over 50 other teams this weekend heading down to the iconic Rodney Parade to finish the 2025/26 season in style with a day full of rugby, fun, and unforgettable memories 🏉✨

What an experience this was for them running out of the tunnel to the furthest pitch and having the Big screen announcements taking in the whole experience 🥰

Well done to everyone hope you have all enjoyed this fantastic opportunity and experience 🏉🐓🐉🏟️🥰
