Ceres Highland Games

Ceres Highland Games Founded in 1314 by Robert the Bruce to celebrate the safe return of the men who fought at Bannockburn.

The Ceres Highland Games take place annually on the Bow Butts in the centre of the village on the last Saturday in June. As we have now passed the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn, it is perhaps especially appropriate that we should take up the Bruce's offer to enjoy our midsummer Games. As usual, the games will be a cheerful mix of pipe music, dancing, wrestling, heavy events, cycling and running. Around the Bow Butts, there will be shows, trade stalls, refreshment tents and food venues.

Look at the Bow Butts today - those white lines are the only evidence that anything happened yesterday. We hope you enjoyed the day and we thank you for your support. A massive thank you must go to all the volunteers who helped, not just at the Games but also helped clear up this morning. It wouldn’t be possible to run the Games without you. If you’re interested in helping next year, just message us. Ceres Highland Games 2026 over and out. See you in 363 days!

Have any of the dancers who came to the Games lost some crocs? Looks like some furry friends might have made them home 😉
