📢 Announcement: Strathmiglo United Folding ⚽

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the unfortunate news: Strathmiglo United Football Club will no longer be in operation. After years of dedication and passion from our players, staff, and supporters, this decision was not taken lightly.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been a part of our journey. Your unwavering support and commitment have meant the world to us. While this chapter may be closing, the memories and camaraderie we've shared will always remain.

Thank you for being a part of Strathmiglo United's history, and let's remember the good times as we bid farewell to this beloved club. ⚽❤️⚪️🔴

Got what we deserved, we werent at it and got beat by numerous long balls and gifted position away too easily while also not taking chances. Not a good combination.
Need to be better next game.⚪️🔴

Cup Result

Cupar Hearts 4-1 Strathmiglo

Tough game tonight. Started really well and went 1-0 up early after Scott Johnstone met a Kevin Johnston corner from close range.
We battled well and matched them around the park but conceding 2 goals from our mistakes before half time meant we went in to the break behind.
Squad being ravaged by injuries wasnt helped when we were forced in to 2 changes before half time.
The second half was a bit more backs to the wall but we did battle well before another injury forced us into a sub.
Conceded another 2 goals and ended up 4-1.
We did have a couple of good chances but we couldnt convert. Jos Park made 2 or 3 outstanding saves as well to keep us in the game before we conceded the last 2 goals.

Can’t fault any of our players tonight they put everything in to it and can be proud of the way they played for large parts of the game!

League Result

Scotia 4-1 Strathmiglo

Started really slow today and were 2-0 down after sloppiness all over the pitch in the first 20 minutes.
25 minutes in we started to compete and grabbed a good goal back after a whipped cross by Fraser Robinson was met by Kyle Fraser who had got across the defender and flicked it to the far side from the front post.
Second half we looked really disjointed and left a lot of gaps all over the pitch. Eventually Scotia grabbed a couple of goals from counter attacks, frustratingly from our own throw in and corner.
Game finished 4-1.
Need to pick ourselves up for a tough cup tie against Cupar Hearts on Tuesday night.
Thanks to Scotia for their hospitality after the game and we hope their player who suffered a bad injury at the end of the match recovers quickly!🔴⚪️

After a good result on Tuesday we are looking to try and put a run together now but its going to be a tough task!🔴⚪️

Strathmiglo 2-1 Benarty Astros

Really good win tonight against a strong side.
Two teams who tried to get the ball down and play good football made for a very good game!

1-0 down after a long ball caught out the defence 20 minutes in.
Not long after a great corner whipped in by Aaron Anderson was met by the head of Lee White who powered his header past the keeper and the score stayed at 1-1 until half time.
A really good battle again in the second half. A couple good saves from the Benarty keeper and some really good last ditch defending at the other end kept the scores level in an open and exciting match.
10 minutes from time a corner whipped right in to the middle of the box by Kevin Johnston was met from the perfectly timed run of Kyle Fraser who put a bullet header in to the back of the net.
We defended well for the last 10 minutes and didnt give much away!
First 3 points of the season and a great game to build on!⚪️🔴

League Result

Strathmiglo 4-5 Greig Park

Tough one to take today, everyone worked so hard which was exactly what we looked for after the opposite on Saturday.
Going 2-1 and 4-3 up just wasnt enough as we ran out of legs with being down to the bare bones due to injuries and holidays.
Very proud of the team to battle like they did and leave it all on the pitch. Another day we could have walked away with something but we were up against a very dangerous Greig Park side!
A lot of positives to build on and some things to work on but a much better performance!
All the best to Greig Park for the rest of the season.⚪️🔴
