We had another junior event yesterday at Kirkby Stephen with our U10’s, U12’s and U14’s competing v Kirkby Stephen, Kendal & Kirkby Lonsdale.

With a total of 28 different players representing the club across the age groups, it was definitely a successful day and a lots of goals scored too.

Great to see each age group making huge progress tournament after tournament. Also the first outing in the new junior kits, sponsored by the Taverners Cricket Club.

Brilliant to see how well our boys from WHC are doing! 🤩

Massive well done to Louis, Sam, Sammy, Charlie, George, Charlie T and Isaac for becoming county champions! 🏑💥

Huge congratulations to our First XI Hockey squad who battled hard to defeat Sedbergh 6-4 in the county finals and are now officially county champions! 🏑🏆

We now progress to the regional finals in February! 🎉

An amazing and emotional evening put on by The Lakes School last night celebrating 60 years. Hosted by Rob Rinder (grandson of one of the Windermere Children) and alumni, memories, music, speeches with head boy Matt Gibson who you’ll see at our junior sessions. Then lovely finale from the Anniversary choir including all our local primary schools. Exciting times ahead for The Lakes School!

📣We are currently recruiting for available positions in our committee! 📣

These are roles with an insight into what it will entail:

🏑Treasurer
* Maintain club accounts and provide statements at club meetings.
* Responsible for managing club outgoings and ensuring memberships, match fees and general debts are collected through Teamo.

🏑Men’s 2s Vice Captain
* Assists the captain in their duties, offering advice and helping to make decisions for the team.
* Leads by example. They demonstrate strong leadership qualities and set a positive example for other players to follow during practices and games.

🏑Junior Coordinator
* Be the contact for Cumbria junior events and organise teams appropriately.
* Assist with weekly junior sessions.
* Contact for parents of Windermere Hockey Club members and share news of training sessions, upcoming fixtures etc.
