Today, we would like to recognise and thank our Course Manager, Richard Bell, for an incredible 20 years of dedication to our club.
Starting his journey as an apprentice in 2002, Richard quickly became a valued member of the greenkeeping team. After a brief six-month spell away in 2005, he returned to the club in March 2006 and has continued to play a vital role in the development and presentation of our courses ever since.
In 2014, he was appointed Course Manager, a position in which he has led with professionalism, commitment, and a genuine passion for delivering the best possible playing conditions for our members and visitors.
Over the past two decades, Richard has witnessed and contributed to significant changes across the courses, helping to shape them into what they are today. His hard work, expertise, and dedication are appreciated by everyone at the club.
To mark this special milestone, Richard was presented with a small token of appreciation by Jim Hamilton, our current Greens Convenor and a Past Captain of the club. Fittingly, Jim was also the Greens Convenor when Richard first joined as an apprentice, making it a particularly meaningful moment, with Richard now leading the team as Course Manager.
