Fender definitely took a leaf out of Ovation’s book when they developed the fibreglass bodied Telecoustic. It’s Fishman electronics mean it sounds great plugged in while still managing to give an acoustic Tele twang. 🤠👍🏻

PRS may have stolen some of Suhr guitars thunder in recent years, but there’s still something very special about owning one. Reassuringly Expensive and hand crafted from the very best materials they just reek of quality. For me it’s the pickups which set them apart and certainly out perform PRS. Check out this Classic. With its steel frets and top of the line components it will last a lifetime. This one comes fitted with the Suhr SSCII noise cancelling system. It’s basically a heavily shielded hidden dummy Humbucker which the signal passes through. Marvellous 🤩

Ah the joy of the Partscaster, the world is your oyster, select what ever you want to create your very own unique guitar. This beauty has a fantastic Birds Eye maple neck and some amazing under wound MoJo pickups, for that classic early strat sound. Lovely stuff 😎👌

An interesting one this…

The standard neck width at the nut for an electric guitar is 43mm. You can find narrow 40.6mm and wider 44.5mm necks if you look hard enough, but that’s about it.

So if you are looking for something closer to a classical acoustic guitar at 51mm you’re out of luck.

The owner of this guitar wanted a wider neck to suit his playing style and thought out of the box!

He bought a 12 string electric guitar which has a 48mm neck and removed six strings and machine heads!

All well and good but the guitar wasn’t playing well and that’s where I stepped in.

First of all I replaced the twelve string bridge with a standard six string one, this really improved the string spacing.

There was a lot of fret buzz even with a high action and after I had straightened the very bowed neck. My spider senses were telling me a dreaded neck shim was lurking!

Neck off and sure enough there it was! Out it came! Neck reset and action set for the 16” radius neck. Much better but still some buzz. Time for the fret rocker tool to reveal the high frets. Frets levelled and crowned. Now we’re cooking!

Final piece of the jigsaw, replace the pickups with my absolute favourite Tone Rider City Limits. New full size CTS pots while I have the soldering iron hot!

Quite the transformation into a wonderful and unique guitar 😎👍🏻
