If you only participate in one triathlon this year, let it be the Croyde Ocean Triathlon in North Devon - winner of 'Best Large Even

t in the South West' by Triathlon England. The start and finish line overlook Putsborough Beach, (a 3km sandy beach stretching up to Woolacombe) with views of Lundy Island in the distance. Choose your distance - The Stunning & Savage Olympic Distance Course OR The Still Stunning but Less Savage Sprint Distance Course...

1.5km/700m ocean swim along Putsborough Beach, in the Atlantic Ocean, marshalled by fully qualified lifeguards. Once out of the water there is a steep run back into transition. We time you on the steep run – will you be HERO OF THE HILL?

38km/18.5km road bike course: Starting above Putsborough Beach, the route winds its way towards the historic Pickwell Manor and up onto higher ground, heading towards West Down. Next we take you up to the A3123 where you may see Exmoor in the distance. We bring you back for blast along the 3123 towards Woolacombe, before taking you down through the picturesque village of Mortehoe after a VERY STEEP and SLOW decent you hit the beach and head through Woolacombe, back up out of Woolacombe towards home and more of our beautiful winding lanes. Stunning views, ups and downs, there is something to see at every turn and plenty of elevation to challenge all competitors.

12km/5.5km off road run. This is a fantastic run devised by local athletes to give you fabulous views of all three bays: Putsborough, Saunton and Croyde. 2km longer than a standard Olympic distance triathlon, it includes a beach run along the famous Croyde surfing beach and will encompass Baggy Point, before hugging the coastline and dropping back into Putsborough.

What a day. Stunning. Savage. Scorching. SENSATIONAL. There'll be more video and pics to follow very soon, but for now we wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you: our triathletes, trail runners, partners and hundreds of volunteers who help make it happen. Put your feet up tonight, everyone - you've earned it!

Hello! It's going to be a glorious weekend here in North Devon, and as the temps rise we've an update for all our triathletes and runners on a few things water-related:

- We will now have *additional* water stations at the end of the swim AND on the Olympic tri run (and trail) route: approximately 1.5k, 3.5k, 7.5k and at the finish.

- The ocean temp today is 19C and rising, so wetsuits will be optional, not obligatory.

We swam the course this morning = water quality was excellent with almost no jellyfish. Bear in mind that it is forecast to be breezy on Sunday morning so air temp will feel about 16C, and the walk to the Olympic start is 1km. If you do wear a wetsuit (and plenty will choose to) we'd recommend removing it after the swim before you run up the beach.

Say hello to your one-of-a-kind 2026 medals! We popped down to our friends at Eco Tribo to watch them being made from abandoned fishing nets (yes really), recovered from our very own beaches here in North Devon.

Eco Tribo is a sustainable design company here in Braunton, run by Carrie and Ty. They tackle marine pollution by transforming 100% recycled ocean plastics and discarded "ghost nets" into eco-friendly products like our 'mazing medals.

Some things just go together. Like swimming, cycling and running. Or Dryrobe®️ and our triathlon.

We're so proud to have them as our headline partner. Just like us, they're passionate about protecting the places that make adventures possible. Like us, they believe business can be a force for good. And like us, they know that some of life's best moments happen when you're wet and sandy and in need of a quick change.

From a local start-up to a global B Corp brand, Dryrobe®️ never forget where they came from, and we're delighted they're part of our story too. So here's to another year of epic racing, spectacular scenery and a shared commitment to looking after the precious coastline we all love.

Happy Father's Day to all the Triathlon dads (and grandads)! Those checking the surf before they've had their first cup of tea. Studying three different weather apps, and spending far too long talking about transition technique. And, occasionally, chafing. Casually mentioning a race they've entered six months from now. Explaining (in detail) why carbon wheels are definitely an investment.

Whether you're spending today in the sea, on the bike, out on the trails, or asleep on the sofa after all three, Happy Father's Day from all of us at Croyde Ocean Triathlon.

See you on the start line in a few weeks!
