At just 9 months old after repeatedly being unwell and ending up hospitalised with pneumonia, Teddy's parents Katie+Scott were devastatingly told on the 24th February that their son has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia . Acute Myeloid Leukaemia is a rare but agressive type for children. Only around 100 under 19 year olds receive this diagnoses each year.

Teddy will be staying at Great Ormond Street Hospital for several months while undergoing intensive treatment where his parents will be by his side every step of the way.

Unfortunately GOSH don’t provide accommodation for both parents and only one parent can stay at the hospital at one time. Local charity accommodation is full and so, hotels or air b&bs are their only option to be by each others side throughout this incredibly tough journey.

The financial pressure this puts on them as a family, alongside the inability to work, with bills to pay and all other costs they will face along the way is a pressure they shouldn’t be worrying about at such an intense time ❀️

Came down and supported first session back. 8 weeks postpartum. Super proud of how well she is done! "This image shows a 250 lb woman on the left and a 120 lb woman on the right. We can see weight gain from the outside, but we usually can't see what it's doing on the inside. Look at the fat surrounding the organs in the woman on the left. Do you also see the fat around her heart and around her brain? A little scary, isn't it? Look at the compression around the stomach and internal organs. Do you think that would have any impact on GERD and indigestion? Look at the compressed knee joints. Do you think those joints ache a little more than they should?"

Losing weight isn't just about your image but also about your health, how your heart functions how your brain functions and how you feel and your body functions. Do it for better quality of life. Do it for your family, do it to extend your life.... I care why you do it but I want you to find a reason to do it and JUST DO IT!!!

The gym environment for A LOT of people can be an extremely daunting prospect. This is such a huge barrier for people not attending the gym due to the if, buts and maybes that may occur in a gym environment.

So my humpday motivation message is be kind. Be mindful of others in the gym. Everyone in that gym is in there to better themselves. Or are at least trying to! Know one needs people that are going to make that scenario any more difficult.

Help each other out. Don’t be scared congratulate and compliment people on there progress both small or large. Say hello to people you don’t know πŸ‘πŸ»

All of these little things help create a much nicer and welcoming gym environment which can be the make or break for some people success and health.

Once again, everyone is trying to better themselves. Be kind and aware of your surroundings.

😨😳 THE DREADED PLATEAU 😳😨

Are you training consistently but struggling to see results? Being in a plateau maybe the answer.

We all get into a habit going to the gym and doing the same workouts, with the same exercises, sets, reps and weight.

This is a huge reason why we plateau, the human body loves patterns as it becomes comfortable and familiar doing the same thing. But in terms of progressing with your workouts, keeping to a pattern for too long could actually cause your body to become comfortable with that pattern! The way to fix this is by changing up that pattern.

⭐️ How often should you change your workouts? ⭐️

I don’t personally believe there is a specific time frame when you should ideally change your workouts, but it is important to do so.
The best way to know when you should change your workouts is pay attention to your body. 3-4 weeks is usually a good guideline.

⭐️ How do you know if you need to change things up? ⭐️

These key factors are all so important to determining how you’re body is reacting to your current training regime.

1. If your body isn’t changing. - Not seeing any results.

2. Are you struggling to lift more? - Not managing to increase any of your weights on your exercises/lifts.

3. Are you bored? - heading to the gym with no motivation to perform your workout.

Always remember: If the mind believes. Then the body can achieve.

⭐️ Ways to change up your workouts? ⭐️

Here are the best variables to change the way your workouts affect your body!

Tempo, Rest periods, Sets, Reps, Weight , Training systems…the list goes on!

⭐️ In a nut shell ⭐️

Changing these variables can really give your body something new to deal with and help you stay on track with your goals.

Even if were to do the same exercises for 5 months, as long as you changed some of these variables, your muscles wont get used to working with the same load, therefore you can do what movements you’re comfortable doing, but changing how your body has to react to it.

EVERY ACTION CAUSES A REACTION. Keep your body on its toes! πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ”₯
