The season has started with our club taking on Wadhurst away with even the sun putting in a welcome appearance. Wadhurst, last year's League Champions, proved too strong for us, winning the match 91 to 50. However, we did win two of the four ends, securing two points.
Our green has been pretty well unplayable due to the very heavy rain of recent weeks, but things are improving and should be in good shape for match against Grosvenor next Saturday.
And Monday afternoons from now on are practice sessions when we'd welcome anyone new to the game keen to give it a try.

We're making a special attempt to attract new members. Posters will be going up soon in the village with leaflets in local retail outlets. Anyone interested will be invited to come along to Monday afternoon practice sessions. They'll be fitted out with kit and be lined-up with a 'buddy' to introduce them to the game. Bowls is quite simple: you just have to get your bowl closer to a target white ball than your competitor. You may play with two bowls, three or four. If one of your bowls is nearest you score
one point, two nearest and its two points and so on.
It is competitive but companionable so, a great way to make new friends on the green or after in the clubhouse.
Anyone who takes up the game after Monday practice is offered three-months subs free membership.
