50 + F I’ve been there done it and got the T shirt!!!

My aim is to educate, motivate and inspire clients to change their lifestyle and help them to shape their future. I have not always been a personal trainer….in fact I used lead a very unhealthy lifestyle, which consisted of an unhealthy diet and very little exercise. This caused me to become overweight and be very unhappy. I always wanted to be the person I saw looking back at me in the mirror, a

slimmer, fitter and more confident person. Does this sound like you? Who do you see looking back at you in the mirror? By changing my habits and investing in my life I have been able to run 10K races, half marathons and The London Marathon. Trek the Sahara Desert and cycled many miles for my favourite charities, stay fit and feel good ! Whilst achieving all this I also qualified as a personal trainer and also a GP and exercise referral instructor . I have the knowledge, expertise and experience to help you make the changes you need and encourage and support you step by step towards achieving your goals

“I didn’t realise you had to be stunning to be an Olympic athlete”

Former Olympic swimmer Rebecca Adlington has spoken out about the immense pressure and criticism she faced from the media whilst competing.

Becky, who is our charity’s Patron, recently told the Independent: “I had won an Olympic medal – but the media was saying I was too fat. That I wasn’t in shape. I kept thinking: What am I too fat for? Yes, I’ve got big shoulders, but they’re my power.”

These messages sink in, not only for the athletes they’re directed at, but in the minds of every woman and girl who hears them.

Our research shows it too. 45% of teenage girls feel they don’t have the right body shape for sport, increasing to 52% of girls who used to be sporty but dropped out in their teenage years.

We must put an end to the harmful narrative that women and girls must look a certain way to take part in sport. Everyone, no matter their shape or size, has the right to thrive in and enjoy sport.

Well, it's the end of an era today. After 15 years as a Personal Trainer, helping my clients to achieve their goals, I have made the decision to hang up my boxing gloves, put the weights down and make some time for myself. I have had an amazing career, taught by the very best. To all my clients, thank you for all your support and keep up the hard work!
This is not quite the end, as I will continue to teach my classes and for the time being, they will still be held at my studio in Whatton
