Good evening, All

Cropwell played Kinoulton Cricket-Club on the Sheldon Field today, it was a warm day and the weather was set fine.

Captain for the day was Harry Woodward. He went out to the middle for the toss and was looking like a top man, ready for a good game.

Cropwell went out to bat with James Spencer and Sam Pudding Hinton. They scored a quick fire 74 partnership, with Sam scoring 26 and James went on to retire at 50. Cropwell put on a score of 172, with other notable scores from Max Lockwood, Joe Litchfield and Seth Carroll, and that was going to take some getting.

Cropwell went out to bowl with Gareth Guy and Joe Shinn opening up the bowling. They went for only 34 in their opening 12 overs. Setting the standard for the rest of the bowling.

There seemed to be a new style of bowling today, which we found out was 'hazball'!!! Joe Litchfield being the top bowler, taking 3 wickets for 2 runs.

We managed to bowl them out for 102 and it was yet another win for Cropwell Cricket Club

Well done Cropwell and James Spencer wins man of the match for a great innings.

Good evening All

Today Cropwell played host to Keyworth a team we have been playing lots over the years and we always have a good game against them. They always put up a fight and today was going to the same as usual.

Both captains walked out to the middle for the toss and you cut the air with a knife as both men squared up for the toss. Harry Britton had a dead eye stare and he was ready for the fight ahead.

Cropwell won the toss and went into bat. Captain of the day Harry Britton wanted to set a score which would be hard to reach.

Craig White and Pete Walton went out to bat and they put on a partnership of 64. Craig went for 43 and Pete for 40. Seth Carroll and Alex Wroughton added to the score with Louis Dowson making 11 for the first time this season.

In the end Cropwell posted 185 and Harry was right, that would be a hard score to reach.

It was in for a quick tea and Keyworth went out to bat Their opener had to retire on 52 and they looked like they might reach 185 but in the end fell short on 177 and Cropwell made It 12 wins from 14. John Bradley bowled the last over and had good figures. Thank you all for helping me back to my car as my leg was in pain from sitting to long in a funny position. Very kind of Tony and Seth for coming home with me as I found it hard to walk. Great game today chaps and well done to you all and Mr Britton lead from the front and showed the team the way to yet another win.

Good evening All

Cropwell played host to Travelers CC on the Sheldon Field today and it was very warm out there on the field. Drink breaks would be important and play a big part of the game.

Both captains went out to the middle for the toss. Which the Travelers won and went into bat. This was going to be the hardest test for Cropwell as we have never beaten them over the years.

Travelers went into bat and scored very quickly, putting on a good total of 226 off 30 overs. Cropwell didn't bowl badly with Charlie Henesy taking 3 wickets and Joe Shinn 2.

It was in for tea and the chocolate Brownies tasted great from Mrs Ryder . I had 2 big pieces and went down well.

Cropwell went into bat with Craig Smith and Seth Carroll opening. Seth was soon back in hutch and Craig went on to score yet another 50. In the end Cropwell were all out for 169. It was a good game played by two good teams who just wanted to play cricket and enjoy the day.

Yesterday we were at Upton CC, for their annual 6's tournament. A fantastic day in the sun with some entertaining cricket. Cropwell Cricket Club came through a tense final to bring the trophy back to the Sheldon Field. A great performance from our 6 with James Lockwood winning the player of the tournament, for his all round performances.

Apologies for late match report!!! My fault not Tosh's......



Today Cropwell played Bingham on the Sheldon Field and it was a windy day but not cold.

Bingham went into bat and they started strong until Joe Shinn kept the runs low only going for 23. Plus Chris Moore 5 overs for 13. There was some big hits and in the end Bingham got 205 and it was going to be a difficult run chase.

In went Criag White and Ethan Wright and they got off to a great start until Criag hit his wickets for 11 which was really strange to watch. Neil King top scored on 35 and Max Lockwood was second best on 21.
Cropwell fell well short on 150 and it was there first loss of the season but they gave it a good go. It is played 11 and won 10.
Well done all and thank you for your help today with coffee and scoring, Bingham played a great game won by 55 runs and well done them.
