Getting some arena eventing practice in for the winter, thi boy is learning what each part is. We are constantly working on his flat an aiming to get better every time, and he is! But he is only 5 and a Big boy at 17.2.
A big thanks to Jayne Hodges training and clinics for hosting this clinic, an whilebim sure Bertie could have coped with bigger fences, he really showed his baby side towards the end with how tired he got, especially doing lots of skinnys, an trying it all first time too (such an honest boy)

This year, the hero’s for charity NYD parade team are supporting Great Ormond Street children’s hospital. This is a great cause and something I am proud to be a part of once again, this time going as Peter Pan, I kindly ask for donations to the charity, going through Carls page, with a message to us all. Any little helps!

If any other Neverland peeps want to join me and us please do let me know.
Parade itself will be on New Year’s Day and televised!!

What a horse. First fun ride and he smashed it. So well behaved and jumping things he would never normally see. Some baby moments,but nothing I would class as overly bad as we corrected right away and readied with the correct answer.

RosaEquine was a fantastic helper and ride buddy, lots of laughs had and lots of fun. big thanks to Owner Tegen Uglow for the fact Bertie is even with me, it’s hard to believe that the horse that almost broke me even up to last year, is now ready to go and start his eventing career.

This weekend saw Bertie and Will out at the David Broome Event Centre with the JB academy, doing exercises to help keep rhythm, help th horses learn to be more flexible and also scary fillers of different heights depending on the horses level.
As a 5 yr old who has taken time Bertie did jump some big heights but kept at 80 for his scary fillers and show jump competition round.
Bertie has taken on the eventing baton for Dalcotes Lucznik after her choice to stop show jumping, and we look forward to working on dressage and show jumping over the winter, with some eventers challenge and arena eventing rounds to get ready for the 2025 event season.

Loving and Giving (Albert)

Albie is a bay 16.2 5yr old chunky Irish TB gelding who is so laid back he’s horizontal! He is RoR eligible as he was in training, but was too slow to actually race.
He is definitely more woah then go and would probably love to spend his life just in a field if he had his way.
He is an absolute cuddle bug, loves standing and being groomed, great for the farrier (my farrier’s favourite after one shoeing!) will stand in one spot all day if you left him.
Brilliant to hack in company, does need a rider that will keep him moving alone, just because he looks a little more, but has never been nasty.

He is green jumping, only having been jumped 5 times, but has a good little jump that will become better the more he does, sometimes has a look but only because he’s green, and hasn’t done anything nasty.
Schools nicely in walk and trot, does need leg but isn’t stubborn about it, rides with whip or spurs or both with no issues so would suit a confident novice or teen coming off pony’s looking to put their stamp on a horse.
Canters well and is learning to be a little more forward, has previously been ridden in a snaffle in an open field with no change in paces.

He does have splints, but they don’t affect him and are cold, but price reflects that.

Meet Vroom! VavaVroom!!!

9yr old and approximately 15.1/2

Vrooom is a beautiful black standardbred gelding who raced in harness until 2023, when he was then given time off until August, where he has started his new life as a riding horse. He has a real sensible head on his shoulders, not bothered by tractors, rowdy children, or people flailing around on his back. He is more woah then go and would be happy to take life at his own pace.
He has been ridden by both novice and experienced riders and not changed his behaviour. He is green in schooling due to his history in the harness but is taking it in his stride.
He does jump but it isn’t his favourite activity, and is better with the more solid fences of cross country then show jumps right now, though he is learning to pick up over them. He isn’t fussed by anything he’s put over, and doesn’t change if he’s ridden everyday to being sat on after a break.
He would suit a teen coming off ponies, or a mother/child share with someone able to continue his schooling if more then hacking is wanted.
He is good for farrier, catch, lead alone and with others. He is standardbred which means he can pace, but currently only does so when very unbalanced or coming back from canter due to lack of muscle, this is likely to change with more work and muscle buildup which we are doing as well.
He could also be driven again
