On 15th November, we’re launching the first-ever Welch Fitness Ergathon Youth — a test of speed, fitness, and determination using nothing but the machines.

🚴 2,000m Bike
🚣 1,000m Row
⛷️ 500m Ski

No complicated movements. No running. No lifting experience needed.

Just you vs the clock.

Open to:
🔥 12-13 Years
🔥 14-15 Years

🏆 Top 5 boys and Top 5 girls will qualify for the December Final.

🔥 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to and ! 🔥

This weekend they took on the incredible challenge of the Breakheart Backyard Ultra – a race where competitors must complete a 6.7km loop every hour, on the hour, for as long as they can.

Both Eve and Euan battled through an incredible 46km, showing outstanding determination, resilience, and mental toughness throughout the event. To keep stepping back onto that start line hour after hour is a phenomenal achievement.

We’re incredibly proud of you both. Enjoy the recovery – you’ve certainly earned it! 👏👏

🔥ERGATHON EVENT – DIVISION BREAKDOWN + HOW TO QUALIFY 🔥

We’ve structured the Ergathon event so every athlete competes in a fair, competitive field with a clear pathway to the final.

You’ll now book into your correct age category:

1️⃣ Open Division
For all athletes ready to test themselves against the fastest in the field.

2️⃣ Masters 41–57
A dedicated division for experienced athletes still pushing performance at a high level.

3️⃣ Masters 58+
For our veteran competitors proving that age doesn’t slow standards.

📌 HOW IT WORKS
You compete within your age group → leaderboard ranks you against your peers → top performers earn an invite to the FINAL on 12th December.

This isn’t just another event.

It’s a chance to benchmark yourself, climb your division, and earn your spot among the best on finals day.

The Workout
Part A – 0:00–20:00
20 Minute AMRAP
Rotate stations every 1:00
P1: Max Cal SkiErg
P2: Max Cal RowErg
P3: Max Lateral Burpee Box Overs @ 20”
P4: Rest
Teams rotate every minute, moving to the next station.
Each athlete completes 5 rounds at each station.
20:00–22:00 – Full Team Rest
Part B – 22:00–30:00
8 Minute AMRAP
3 athletes: SkiErg – Max Cals (continuous)
1 athlete (rotating every 2:00):
14 Burpees Over RowErg + Max RowErg Cals (remaining time)

Turns out we’ve been right all along…

According to BBC News, new study has found that just “90 minutes to 2 hours of strength training per week can significantly reduce your risk of an early death.” Researchers found lower rates of cardiovascular disease, neurological disease, and overall mortality among those regularly doing resistance training.

So if you’ve been telling yourself you’re “too busy” to train…

That’s only 13-17 minutes a day.

🚶‍♂️ From life-changing injury to rebuilding strength, confidence, and independence 🫶🏻

Peter had been a familiar face in our classes for over 18 months before a serious road accident in June 2025 left him with multiple traumatic injuries and a long road to recovery.

Earlier this year, Peter began 1-to-1 rehabilitation sessions with Eve, working closely alongside his healthcare team to rebuild strength, mobility, and fitness. Since then, he’s made incredible progress.

Here’s what Peter had to say:

“I feel confident that Eve has a plan. And that it’s working out. I can sense the gradual strengthening of my foot, leg and body strength - so important to my mobility and enjoyment of life’s opportunities; and I am gradually ramping up my cardio capacity.”

As a scientist, Peter values evidence-based practice and trusted expertise. His feedback means a huge amount to us:

“Eve is absolutely my top-favourite personal trainer. She is super-professional, really attentive to me as a client and a person, and thoughtfully fits her expertise to my needs.”
