Due to the soaring temperatures, we’ve made the decision to close the lake until Friday.

We’ve stopped feeding and have all aeration systems running. Everything is A1, and oxygen levels are being tested three times a day. No stone is being left unturned. We have some incredible fish in the lake, and their welfare is our top priority.

Let’s be honest, fishing in this sort of heat isn’t much fun for anyone – certainly not for me anyway! 😎

The good news is that cooler weather is forecast from Friday and throughout the weekend, so we’ll be back up and running then.

The lake has never looked better, and it’s safe to say we’re absolutely delighted with how far we’ve come. From the devastation of 2022 to where we are today, the transformation has been incredible.

We now have 15 fish over 30lb and counting, with a couple of very special fish knocking on the door of that magical 40lb mark. 🎣

The fish stocked in 2024 have exceeded all expectations too. The majority are now over 20lb, with some already reaching 25lb+ 😳. In fact, we now have only a small number of fish under 20lb in the lake.

The future is looking incredibly bright, and with the fish continuing to grow at a fantastic rate, we can’t wait to see what the next few seasons bring.

🎣 Steve was also in on the action this week, banking two cracking carp weighing 24lb 8oz and 24lb 6oz! One came on a late-night bite, with the other falling victim in the early hours of the morning.

The lake is fishing exceptionally well at the moment, with plenty of fish showing and anglers being rewarded for their efforts.

🎣 A great pleasure to welcome Richard to the lake for a 48-hour session!

What a session it turned out to be, with Richard landing three beautiful carp weighing 15lb 4oz, 19lb 6oz, and to top it all off, the incredible AJ at a new weight of 35lb 12oz! 🐟🔥

Not only was it a stunning fish, but it also smashed Richard’s personal best, making it a session to remember. Massive congratulations! 👏
