“I knew it was only a matter of time before I was sent home with oxygen. A big wake‑up call for me.”

Cathy from Middlewich had been smoking for over 50 years, starting at just 12. Each cold would go straight to her chest. More than once, she was rushed to hospital on blue lights, needing oxygen.

Then Cathy found the Be Smoke Free programme, and things started to change.

Drowning Prevention Week is here, and Everybody is ready! 🏊‍♀️

From 13th–19th of June, our swimming pools will be focusing on water safety and lifesaving skills as part of Drowning Prevention Week. We are excited to help children build confidence in and around water while learning skills that could one day save a life. 💙

🎓 Every child taking part will receive a FREE Drowning Prevention Week certificate, please remember to collect yours from reception after your swimming lesson.

What to bring:
👕 Stage 5 swimmers – please bring a t-shirt to swim in
👚 Stage 6 and above – please bring an appropriate lightweight top and bottoms

📸 Do not forget to take a photo with Todd and pick up one of our fun activity sheets while you are here!

Together, we can help children stay safe and enjoy the water with confidence. 💙

Drowning Prevention Week

This week, we will be learning about 'Drowning Prevention' during our Learn to Swim lessons.

We have been lucky enough to receive a visit from the Cheshire Fire Brigade today, who talked about the dangers of water and how to stay safe.

Each child will receive a certificate after their lessons, and we also have a colouring competition for your child to enter.

Let’s remember to stay safe in and around the water.
