DCGC’s 50th anniversary weekend of competitions wrapped up in style on Sunday with the Kirton Pairs Open.

Congratulations to our winners, David Wonnacott and Charlie Powell, who claimed the trophy with an excellent 47 points, just edging out Fran Shrubsole and Anthony Sykes on 46 points.

Well played to everyone who took part and helped make the anniversary weekend such a success!

Glorious day and conditions on Saturday at DCGC for the Kirton Cup and our continued 50th anniversary celebrations. We saw the largest turnout of the year - thanks everyone!

Jamie Parsons came out on top with 41 points on the day - a strong performance. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a photo of the winner, but instead we've selected Messrs Wilson, Piper, and Dunlop - standing to attention whilst showing off the 16th in all its glory:)

Members and players thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous hog roast at the turn, kindly donated by member, Simon Coupe and cooked to perfection by Mike Davis/Weddell Swift - raising more valuable funds for our Captain's chosen charity, FORCE Cancer Charity.

It was also great to see founding members, Alan and Jenny Rodd, in attendance.

We're biased, but the course and the club in general are maturing nicely. Here's to another 50 years 🍻

What a day for the Ladies of Downes Crediton Golf Club! On 12 June, we celebrated 50 years with a special anniversary event, welcoming Lady Captains from clubs across Devon for a 3-ball Texas Scramble and afternoon tea

Huge congratulations to our winners:
18 holes – Liz Mapson (DCGC Past Lady Captain), Sarah Hoff (Stover) and Elaine Randell (RND) with a superb 63.
9 holes – Di Botterill, June Skuse and June Mitchell, all DCGC.

A big thank you to long‑standing member Jenny Rodd for presenting the prizes, to Luke, Connor and the catering team for a fantastic tea (and scones, of course!), to Tolchards for the complimentary Prosecco, and to our greenkeepers and Pro Shop for all their hard work behind the scenes.

The extremely testing and windy conditions on Saturday didn't seem to affect Colin Stamp:) He shot an impressive nett 64 to win the Honda Medal, with young Fergus Govier placed 2nd and Steve Yates 3rd.

Whilst some of the pin positions caused a bit of chatter in the clubhouse, the greens were superb - quick and true. Well done team!
