Another great evening of bowls with our village competition. The Parish Council, skippered by Sarah Gilbard and supported by brother David, are currently unbeaten.
Really nice to see new bowlers there willing to give it a go and have some fun.
Great atmosphere too.

Great afternoon playing against Tiverton Canal on the first home leg of the Tiverton Cup. The two sides have played for this cup for almost 40 years. Morchard made 74 shots and Tiverton 105. Second leg at Tiverton in August.
Beautiful weather, green playing well and very friendly opposition. It was a really enjoyable afternoon.

We welcomed Marina (Dawlish) to Morchard Bishop Wednesday for the men's over 60s.
One rink lost 9 shots to 18, the other was much closer, the drama going to the final (18th) end where the team closed it out for the win by 1 shot, 22-21.

Another good, possibly surprising win last night in the men's North Devon Triples. We went to Holsworthy and won on two rinks and drew on the third. So a 9 points to 1 win.
Great performance by all the lads.

Rock Park bowling club from Barnstaple visited last night and, on a fast green, basically showed us how to play bowls. We lost heavily, by 87 shots to 36. They played very well and we only really gave them a game on one rink which ended 15-17.
Beautiful evening to play bowls though in the very pleasant evening sunshine.

Saturday, we played Uffculme in a friendly. This was a reinstated fixture, as our late Captain Brian was very keen on this fixture. So we arranged a home and away friendly.
Uffculme are a very friendly club and we all had a fun afternoon, especially as Morchard Bishop won overall!

Our men travelled all the way to Bideford Victoria Park Friday evening only to get there to be told the match had been postponed. No one had told us though..... Will have to rearrange for August. Annoying...

Mens Shield Match against Okehampton on Monday rained off after 14 ends.
We still take the win though, 38-29 and 8 points.

Surprise result last night in the North Devon Triples as our men beat Hatherleigh on all three rinks at home, 66 shots for and 36 against. Terrific performance all round.
