The WOMEN'S REC TEAM presentation at the Club Awards Day on Saturday.

As usual these ladies really brought the energy - it was the perfect way to wrap up the day and lead into the evening's festivities!

This group has gone from strength to strength over the last year and it was truly inspiring to hear the stories of how people's lives have changed since becoming involved. That is right at the heart of what Panthers is about and we are very grateful to Vicky and Chris for turning one person's vision into such a fantastic reality. KH4 would be very proud!

The MEN'S FIRST TEAM awards presentation at our Club Awards Day last Saturday.

Another excellent season for these lads which saw them achieve league promotion for the third time in four years as well as reaching the quarter-finals of the County Cup and the final of the League Cup!

🎖CHAIR'S AWARD 🎖

The Chair's Award is the most prestigious honour handed out at our Club Awards Day each season. It's reserved for those club members or volunteers who have gone far beyond the call of duty and made a remarkable contribution to Panthers.

This year, the Club Co-Chairs Kirsty Butcher and Steve Walker were delighted to present this award to Chris & Vicky Biggs who have, both individually and collectively, had a huge impact on our club and all of its members!

Not only has Chris been a Panthers coach for the last six years, he is well-known to his fellow coaches, players and parents of all teams as our Club Fixtures Secretary and a constant presence at Maidenbower Park on matchdays making sure that everyone has a fantastic matchday experience. He's also a very active Management Committee member behind-the-scenes in a whole variety of different roles. Whether its conducting pitch inspections, repairing Samba goals, organising charity raffles or handling membership enquiries, he works hard every single day to make sure that Panthers runs as smoothly as possible.

Vicky has been an active Panthers club member alongside Chris for many years, but in the last two seasons has really come into her own as the driving force behind our Women's Rec team. Building on a vision that was first conceived by Kirsty Hills before she sadly passed away, Vicky has given absolutely everything to make Kirsty's dream come true. Listening to the stories shared by the players at the Awards Day, you can sense exactly how much impact Vicky's efforts have had on many peoples' lives.

Chris and Vicky share a common attribute between them - they are both absolutely ALL-IN for Panthers. Their commitment, dedication and perseverance combined with complete selflessness is what makes them both so special. They quite simply don't give up until they get it done! Not only that but they are thoroughly awesome people who have a knack of getting on with everyone around them.

Panthers quite simply wouldn't be the same without Chris and Vicky at its beating heart. We are forever grateful for their contribution to the club and for their friendship!

🚨📣 BOYS/MIXED TEAM OF THE SEASON

Three years ago, Rick O'Brien, who'd coached a Panthers team for a number of seasons previously, had to step away from coaching for personal reasons. However, in 2024 he was able to return to Panthers and set out to rebuild his team from the ground up. And we're so glad he did!

Promoted last year in their first season back in the Horsham League, UNDER 13 WHITE started this season quietly and calmly, steadily picking up wins as they went. They faced challenges on many fronts - from high-quality opposition, and from the weather that meant they went almost two months without playing on two separate occasions.

Nevertheless they persevered and were triumphant - squeezing in their last league game on the final day of the season they secured back-to-back promotions and will now play in the A Division next season. We're delighted for the whole team, and for Rick, that they were able to achieve their goals.

In recognition of this consistent success, and for battling back from adversity, we are delighted to honour them as the Panthers Boys/Mixed Team of the Season.

In true Hollywood style, they weren't able to attend our Club Awards Day but we were able to catch up with them at training and present their trophy on behalf of the whole club. Congratulations to all the players and coaches on this very well-deserved award!

🚨📣 GIRLS TEAM OF THE SEASON

UNDER 12 GIRLS have been on a sustained upward trend the last few seasons. From a team that was a bit low on confidence and not always able to stay in matches a couple of years ago, they have made remarkable progress on the pitch. With coaches Paul, Dan, Jack and Kati encouraging them every step of the way, this year they came so close to winning their division and securing promotion to the Championship - there were just a couple of points in it at the end!

Not only have their footballing skills progressed rapidly, we love the way the girls play the game with a smile on their faces and support each other through every challenge. Players and coaches together have built a fantastic team culture and all truly live up to the Panthers ethos.

For all these reasons, and many more, we are absolutely delighted to recognise them as the Panthers Girls Team of the Season. A huge congratulations from everyone at the club.

SECRETARY'S AWARD

Each year, the Panthers Club Secretary, Steve King, presents an award to a volunteer who we feel has shown outstanding commitment to the club over a long period of time and who deserves special recognition for their extraordinary efforts. This year he was delighted to present the award to Matt Blackman.

Matt has been with Panthers since 2019 when his son joined our Development Centre at 5 years old. He was recruited to become one of our coaches as the boys started their league journey in the 2020-21 season. Since then he has coached both Saturday and Sunday teams through the age groups and has recently returned to the start of journey as he now heads up our Boys Development Centre.

Not only is he an ever-present as a coach, he's also a Management Committee member - always on hand to help out across the club on match days and at events. His quiet determination and unflappable nature make him a colleague we can always rely upon and he'll tackle any challenge that's thrown at him. He may not be the loudest guy in the room but that's what we love about him - he just gets on with it and is always there when we need him! He's one of the true rocks of Panthers.

We are all extremely grateful to Matt for everything he does for the club and this award is a thoroughly-deserved recognition of his service.
