Has your walk quietly changed without you noticing?
It’s a question worth asking yourself.
Maybe your stride feels a little shorter. You’re not quite as confident on uneven ground. You find yourself looking down at your feet more. Or perhaps you’ve started reaching for the furniture as you move around at home.
Sometimes these changes creep in so gradually that we simply adapt to them.
A few things worth noticing:
✔️ Are you shuffling more than you used to?
✔️ Do you lean or drift to one side?
✔️ Do you watch your feet rather than looking ahead?
✔️ Are you using walls, furniture or handrails more for confidence?
✔️ Does walking feel slower or more tiring?
✔️ Have you had a stumble, near-fall or found yourself hesitating somewhere you previously wouldn’t?
It doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong.
But it does tell us that something about the way your body is moving may have changed.
At Bridgeham, our multidisciplinary team can look beyond simply where it hurts. Osteopathy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and movement assessment can help us explore your strength, balance, mobility and the way your whole body works together.
Because sometimes the first clue isn’t pain.
It’s simply noticing that you don’t move quite like you used to.
And our aim? To keep you Moving Marvellously for Life. 💙🧡
