It wasn’t to be for the 1st XI on Saturday, as they fell just short against St Andrews in a thrilling finish.
Winning the toss and choosing to bowl on a good deck, we picked up some early wickets to leave St Andrews 60-3 at the end of the powerplay. The dangerous pair of Platt and Lonsdale then pushed the score on quickly, but regular wickets from Brodie and Purce kept us in the game, and we eventually bowled St Andrews out for 245.
After losing a couple of early wickets, Dan & Brodie put on 59 for the third wicket to get us back on track. However, drinks came at the wrong time, with both falling in fairly quick succession. Warren and Jacob then came together and looked to swing the game back in our favour, but some disciplined bowling and regular wickets stemmed the momentum, with St Andrews eventually restricting us to just short of the target.

The 2s were also looking to finish the season on a high, having confirmed their place in Div 11CN for next season last week.
Batting first, Liam and Kev got us off to a great start, before some valuable middle-order runs from Scott helped us post 200 from our 40 overs.
Despite Bobby picking up a wicket in the first over, Cuckfield got to work, with a crucial third-wicket partnership of 134 putting them firmly in control and eventually seeing them home.

So that wraps up a good season for the club! 💪🏻
The 1st XI secured promotion back to Div 6C, while the 2s retained their place in Div 11CN, giving some valuable league cricket experience to a number of our younger players along the way.

A season to be proud of for everyone involved! ❤️💚

It’s the last game of the season on Saturday, and it’s a huge one for the 1st XI, as they travel to table toppers St Andrews in a winner takes all shoot out for the Div 7C Title!

The 2s will look to end their season on a high, as they host Cuckfield at home, with last weeks wash out securing their position in Div 11CN for 2027!

🚨60 POINT SATURDAY 🚨

The 1s travelled to Ansty as the race for promotion in Division 7C continued. After winning the toss, Brodie elected to bowl on a good deck and another warm afternoon.
After a sluggish start — including a memorable 16-ball over from JT… 😬 — the boys pulled it back brilliantly to bowl Ansty out for 143. Barksy was the pick of the bowlers, rolling back the years with an eight-over spell up the hill to finish with excellent figures of 4-15!
None of the top three really got going in the chase, but Warren joined Brodie at 38-3 and the pair took control, seeing us home comfortably with plenty of overs to spare.

The 2s secured a much-needed win at home against Haywards Heath as they looked to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
A strong batting performance saw us post 240-4 from our 40 overs, with valuable contributions throughout the top order.
Heading out to defend the total, it was U14 Bobby Hollyoak who stole the show, picking up his first league five-wicket haul with outstanding figures of 6-47 from his nine overs!
Well done, Bobby! 👏
